Unveiled the TR'S this morning. THESE SPEAKERS ARE BEAUTIFUL!
Haven't had a chance to play them yet.
Rick, you're gonna love the looks of the TR'S. Majestic & Elegant describes them!

The TR's would be right at home with a Black Bosendorfer Piano in the room..Wow!
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Hello all you Goldenearites. First time poster here. Second time GoldenEar speaker buyer. I just replaced my Aon 3's with the mighty T-Ref's. I fired them up for the first time 11 days ago, and my first impression was they aren't any louder than the Aon 3's. Geeeez. What's wrong here. They're so big. So, I called the dealer and they didn't think I was getting enough electricity. I didn't really buy this diagnosis. So I called GoldenEar. Guess who I talk to? The man, the myth, the legend. Sandy Gross.

I explain what's happening. What gear I have and the changes in gear I made to get ready for the Triton References. He asked me a few questions. I said I was taking the AV Pre-Amp to -10db maximum on the volume control like I always did. He said; "Turn it up louder!!".

That solved my problem. BIG TIME. (Sandy, if you see this post, thank you for your time and help. It worked).

You see, I was using an NAD 757 AV Surround receiver with the Aon 3's. -10db was always the max, and it was pretty loud. And very good sounding I might add. But now, I'm running a big Pass Labs X350.5 Amp into that same NAD receiver. The numbers on the dial are irrelevant now. The sound when it is turned up is utterly fantastic.
And boy, is it loud too!

Welcome aboard, SilverEar! I'm glad you got everything going OK. Please keep us informed of your listening impressions.

I'm jealous; my dealer called me and said my TRefs should be in in a week or two. This is going to be fun.
