Tonight I was switching the channels and the sat. TV was showing "Cowboys & Aliens", were partway along with it.
Well, I don't normally watch broadcast movies, especially not when they are already started, especially when I have the blu-ray right here in the room with me soes I can see it in all its glory. So I got a WILDE hair to watch it. Did I mention that Olivia Wilde stars in the movie?
Along with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.
I mean, early in the movie some low life dudes try to pick on Daniel Craig, who is dazed and confused, but don't they know by now that he is 007 and they are just gonna get their butts royally kicked???????
You have likely seen this movie before, it is an oldie but goodie IMHO.
The SQ is only 5.1 but it ROCKS, LOTS of LFE, explosions all over the place, good use of the surround channels. PQ is pretty darn good too.
AND it has Olivia Wilde in it.
Fun movie, good for an evening's entertainment, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
God Bless,
Wayne

Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa, "Live in Amsterdam" on blu-ray. It doesn't get much better than this.
He can rock and play the blues, but he takes a little bit of a step back here to let her light shine.
And SHINE it does!!!!
Beth Hart, she has got some pipes!!!!!
PQ is outstanding. SQ is too. Nothing reference here, unless you just want some super music, songs, blues to demo your system with. Then this disc will deliver.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great entertainment for your $18 on the Amazon.
Happy Listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

I'm starting to catch up on a catalogue of movies that have been piling up. I watched The Shack this weekend and was completely blown away! It was a beautiful and powerful film! 5/5 for the film itself.

PQ was also great and earned a 5/5. SQ was good, but the nature of the film doesn't lend itself to sound demos. Dialogue was well captured and everything supported the story well. 4/5 for SQ.

What can else can I add? I HIGHLY recommend this one!!!

Cheers,

T Cobe

I had heard negative things about this one, but the girls picked it out to watch tonight. "Collateral Beauty" has a LOT of star actors in it, good ones. And the writing was not bad, slow and depressing, but not bad. Well not really good either.
PQ was fine, SQ was fine, I did not notice either one being impressive or standing out.
Overall, I would give this one a limited recommendation as it was an alright movie, some quite decent acting and thought-provoking story.
That may be damning it with faint praise, but it is like a 3/5 movie for me.
YMMV.

Yes I know, everybody is waiting to see what move Wayne watched tonight? What will he review now?
Well, I am not watching a movie tonight, but the series "The Walking Dead" Season 6 it is now.
Great writing, some pretty good acting, riveting story, yes, bloody to the max, but I really enjoy this show.
And this season is one of the best so far.
It is on Blu-ray, good pic, and the sound is Dolby True 7.1. Not that I can tell.
Never noticed the sound being remarkable at all, just serves the story.
RECOMMENDED anyway.
YMMV
