Just watched a recent Blu-ray purchase, the 1993 Western "Tombstone", with Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, lots of stars.
I originally saw this in a movie theater, and have re watched it several times on tv over the years. Don't know when they came out with a Blu-ray version in DTS HD Master Audio, but the jacket cover says "on Blu-ray for the first time ever".
I played it in DTS:X +Neural, which also up mixes to the height channels. In a way, it was like experiencing the full audio effects for the first time ever. The gunfights were so real, with bullet richochets flying all around and over me, thunderstorms so real, action scenes in general so explosive...
Great Western flic. Worth experiencing with GEt's providing the entertainment, in straight DTS HD, or with heights added.

Tonight we watched "The Shape of Water", winner of 4 Academy Awards, including best picture.
Warning, I watched this with my daughter and wife and we were embarrassed at the masturbation scenes and the making love scene, as well as the foul language!!!!
This is one weird movie!!!!!
I can do weird, so it was alright to me, but not very good. And I really like the writer./director.
PQ was very special, well done wonderful use of color and lighting, looked antique. The sets were phenomenal.
SQ was by way of DTS HD 5.1 and sounded GREAT! Nothing demo worthy, just great sound for music or gun shots.
WEIRD though.
I saw the ending coming a long way off. I did NOT expect us to see them break into song like a Gall Durn musical though; thank God it was brief.
I was quite disappointed, but YMMV. Still there was so much artistry that I cannot just pan it.
WEIRD.
God Bless,
Wayne

Rotten Tomatoes gave "Black Panther" a 97% rating, IMDb gave it 4 outta 5 stars.
We watched it tonight and did manage to stay awake, JUST barely. Not just me, my wife and daughter too, thought it was horribly BORING!!!!!
Yeah, it was glitzy, the production values were WAY UP THERE, PQ was amazing!!!!!
SQ was 7.1, really great!!!!
It just stretched our belief further than it could stretch. AND who cares?
SORRY IF you are a comic book fan and like this franchise. Then this would be highly recommended.
I am sorry to have wasted my money and our time. It made no sense.
May have had a point, probably telling America and the rich people to help others in the world more. DUH, we need a cartoon to tell us that????
I felt the writing and acting were poor. Costumes, yeah, wonderful, but who cares?
And too long, needed some serious editing.
OK, sorry, if you liked it, I did not.
RECOMMENDED for SQ and PQ only.
YMMV.
God Bless,
Wayne

I want to quickly reply to a comment that was made, I think it was Bro Art, and I think it was on the streaming thread. Sorry, not sure.
But it really applies most to this thread.
Perhaps this would even be worth starting a new thread over, Which Blu Ray or movies are you likely to watch ever again?
I think some one of you recently said they watch a movie once and almost certainly will never watch it again. And I think this was in support of the idea of streaming movies and not buying them.
I mentioned not so long ago going back and watching "Tarzan" again, really enjoyed it.
Also, just re-watched "The Last Samurai", so good movie.
Just watched again, "Gravity" and enjoyed it once more. Just watched both the "Kingsmen" movies again. Fun.
I quite often see a movie running on the TV and remember it fondly, I ought to watch that movie again, and I am for sure not gonna watch it now, since it has already started, and in poor quality. So I will haul out the BR and watch it properly at my leisure.
I have/own a LOT of movies that are not worth watching again, for instance, the one above I just panned, "Black Panther".
But a movie like "Dunkirk" will certainly get pulled out and viewed again, perhaps more than once in the future. Have watched "Saving Private Ryan' many times.
Is this worth starting a thread, good subject? Or am I the only old codger that will watch a movie more than once?
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi, Wayne
NO you are not the only one!!! I visually cycle through my Blu-ray collection now and then, and pick out movies or concerts I haven't played in awhile. For movies, it's impact stuff I want to try again. Memorable stuff I want to relive. For concerts, it's music that I love and want to hear again.
Replays on tv don't cut it the same, not usually as SQ impacting.
