Tonight it was "DragonHeart 4 Battle for the Heart Fire".
Some rated it at 2.5 or even 3 outta 5. That sounds a little too much for me.
It was poorly written, and just childish to me. Perhaps that is all it is for, children?
PQ was not great. SQ was not either.
Frankly it was just a disappointing movie all around.
Not Recommended here.
YMMV.
I guess it might hold some moral instruction for children. That would be the movies' only saving grace IMHO.
God Bless,
Wayne

Here is a twofer for ya:

First is "Nerve" a modern computer game, social network thriller that just never seemed to thrill.
It stars Emma Roberts (Eric's daughter) and she is OK, cute and can hold her own sorta, I think we will be seeing a lot more of her in movies.
Bad language in this one Be warned.
Bad acting too, bad script, but some cute spots.
PQ is pretty good, SQ is not noticeable even though it is 7.1, might be some good use of surround, but did not notice it.
Not really recommended unless you are really hard up for entertainment, then it is OK

Second is "Atomic Blonde" with Charlize Theron and Sofia Boutella.
LOTS of warnings for this movie, language is nasty, there is a homosexual sex scene, thankfully it is girl on girl. And this is the MOST ludicrous to the point of being laughable blatant SMOKING propaganda in a movie I have ever seen!!!!
Hollywood is selling smoking to the kids, if you don't believe me, watch this movie and there are LOTS others.
OK, warnings outta the way, I actually really liked this movie.
Set against the end of the cold war, fall of the wall, the PQ tries to kinda portray that, still really good.
SQ is 7.1 and is VERY good. I did not notice any demo worthy sonics, but the sound served the movie VERY well.
The choreography of the fight scenes was some of the best I have ever seen, sounds of gun fire, felt really right.
Exciting action, plenty to guess at here, well written and super well acted. James McAvoy holds his own with the girls, and I always enjoy anything John Goodman is in. Ms Theron is the star though.
IF you like spy shows, action shows, who is the bad guy here shows, then you should watch this one.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED with the caveats/warnings above. This one is so good there is a sequel in the works now.
God Bless,
Wayne

I have recommended this one before, but tonight I went back and watched it again. "The Legend of Tarzan".
PQ is awesome here and SQ in 7.1 is really good. The story and acting are swell, just thoroughly enjoyed it again.
Margot Robbie is so lovely in this one.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I did not notice if any bad language or anything in this one.
God Bless,
Wayne

Tonight's movie was "Kingsman, The Golden Circle"
Most rate it somewhere around 50/50 and that is about right I guess.
PQ was GREAT and SQ was 7.1 and right up there, not demo worthy but super when it needed to be.
The movie is full of nasty language and just a lot of nasty stuff. But it is also very funny, indeed it is almost a comedy.
An action flick that does not take itself very seriously, LOTS of good actors. The Lovely Halle Berry is totally wasted in this.
LOTS of silly CGI, Sir Elton John, just a silly movie, but RECOMMENDED for lite entertainment if you got nothing better to do.
Over the top movie.
God Bless,
Wayne

Produced and Directed by Robert Redford, "The Conspirator" came in a deluxe metal box and was of the highest quality.
James McAvoy has become a fantastic actor, and Robin Wright, with many others were super good in this historical drama about the assassination of President Lincoln.
I was watching it just days after the anniversary of that sorry act on 15 April, 1865.
This is a solemn, sad movie, and strongly portrays how civil rights and humanitarian justice, even legality get shoved aside in times of war, fear and revenge.
PQ was quite good, my sound was only in 5,.1 but was very good, served the movie well.
The script and acting were super, but the movie is slow and will not be to everyone's taste.
Indeed the movie only got 3 or 4 stars outta 5 in most reviews.
I RECOMMEND it, if you can handle history and sadness.
I would watch it just for the two lead actors.
God Bless,
Wayne

Boys and Girls,
Tonight I watched "American Assassin" on the Blu Ray. Most rate it between 2 and 3 stars outta 5, probably about right.
PQ was fine, spotty in some places. SQ was Dolby 7.1 in my HT, ATMOS for others.
It was fine, especially at the end. The movie starts out slow and not well written, Shiva Negar and Michael Keaton did well.
Acting in general was rough probably because the script was mediocre at best.
But it picked up at the end and got exciting.
RECOMMENDED, but not demo worthy in my home theater, YMMV with ATMOS.
Glad I watched it anyway.
Some rough language, so not for kids. But not overboard nasty.
Did I mention Shiva Negar?
God Bless,
