Tonight we watched one I had seen and have commented on before. "Logan" is a very good movie IMHO.
PQ is really good, SQ is by way of 7.1 and is definitely demo worthy in several scenes. GREAT sound. Even a train going by outside sounds wonderful. I really love my home theater system when I watch and listen to a film like this!!!!
Well written and acted, lots of action. Some rough language, so be warned.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, if you haven't seen this movie, you ought to. It is good.
OK, it takes a LOT of suspension of belief to buy into these characters, but they are sympathetic ones.
YMMV,
God Bless,
Wayne

We like Zombie movies at our house, and this one was different. "The Girl With All The Gifts" was our movie fare tonight.
PQ was pretty good, didn't have to be that great in a post apocalyptic movie.
SQ was by way of 7.1 I think, though the surround sound was not noticeable during the movie, to me. Not demo quality, but seemed to sound fine, especially when trying to create a sense of drama, which was the only time I noticed it.
This movie had high hopes I think, it stars a cute girl and Gemma Arterton, cute woman. Glenn Close is in here, and the acting was pretty good, considering it was not that interesting nor exciting.
I saw some 2-3 star ratings, that is about right.
Problem is the ending, which, OF COURSE I am not gonna spoil for you.
RECOMMENDED if you are really hard up for a night of entertainment.
Did notice a bit of bad language, but not much.
You might like it, it was OK, but different.
God Bless,
Wayne

Today at church was talking to a Swedish friend who told me more of the story of when he was in Phuket for the Tsunami. Said he saved some lives as he saw the ocean going out, he called out to everyone to run, some of the foreigners who understood English did, the Thais did not understand and were busy picking up stranded fish left laying about. He saw a 4 year old left alone and grabbed him, carried him up a hill before the water hit. The parents finally found him.
So we watched "The Impossible" again tonight. The PQ is really good and the SQ, although only 5.1 was quite good, involving, making some of the underwater scenes really more scary.
RECOMMENDED.
Relive the real horror.
God Bless,
Wayne

Wayne,
Last month you mentioned that there was a place to post reviews or comments on movies. I looked and did not find this thread. Then last week I found it and spent an hour reading all the great reviews and comments.

Give me another week to start posting here....I love it when picture albums are included.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Del

Hey Del,
You will be MOST welcome here!!!! Most times I feel like I am just doing this on my own. Sometimes Bro Rick joins in, ANY more discussion will be very welcome!!!!!
I don't usually do a proper movie review, as you can see. I don't get into the story, etc. You can and are free too, I feel sure I will enjoy reading whatever you post.
I have just been focusing on trying to make some recommendations to some guys here who don't seem to get out much, movie wise. And point out the PQ and SQ, also a short subjective comment about whether or not the film is even worth watching.
But I am open to suggestions. Bro Roman suggested commenting on foul language and the like.
Please jump in, the water's fine, not too deep and not too cold!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Blu-ray - Star Wars - The Last Jedi
Released in April 2018
Audio: dts HD Master Audio 7.1
Length: 152 Minutes
Picture Quality: Excellent - 5 out of 5 stars Panasonic Plasma HDTV
Sound Quality: Excellent - 5 out of 5 stars
Computer Graphics: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Enjoyment factor: 4 out of 5 stars

The Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in a epic adventure that unlocks new mysteries of the force.

As a Star Wars fan since the original was released in 1975, I have owned VCR tapes, BetaMax, DVD, and now Blu-ray. The legend continues in this great series. A must own for us older fans and for the new young fans.

Lots of excellent places to test your HT System with solid bass for those bigger towers.

I have not checked out all the extras. The 14 deleted scenes and the director cut will come later.

Highly recommended.
