Hey, Moderator Dude

Another pure curiosity question: can you give us some idea of the relative bass output of the new Reference speakers (as a pair, I guess), vs the SSXXL, T1 pairs, etc. I've read the lit that says the References' bass drivers have 40% more surface area than the T1's, not sure how that relates to actual db output or db level at lower frequencies...

Any info appreciated.

Thanks!

Rick

The Triton Reference has significantly more output at 20 Hz than the Triton One (sorry, I don't have a number for you). The intention of the T Ref design was to equal the output of a SuperSub XXL in each speaker (three active drivers and four passive vs. two larger active and two passive in the SuperSub). From my brief listening and the first couple reviews I'd say that has been accomplished, but I can't offer any hard data at this point.

Thanks, Moderator Dude!

WOW!!!! If EACH T Ref has the same bass output as ONE SSXXL..... having auditioned a single SSXXL in an all GEt HT set-up (T3+'s were the fronts), and being mighty impressed with what the SSXXL added to the party.... I'm starting to drool a bit at the thought of two T Ref's as fronts, moving the T1's to surrounds, and just fastening down loose objects and hanging on!!!
