DaveyMac,

No, as soon as I got the T1s in place I gladly removed the dedicated sub. Now you and Po have me thinking about setting up my Paradigm directly behind my theater seating for close proximity and 360 degree bass. Maybe this weekend... Thanks for the ideas.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hey Guys,
I have the T2s up front and the T3s on the sides, T7s in the rear. Both the T2s and T3s have LFE inputs tied in as well. Then I have the FF5 in the middle rear of the room. I do NOT have it properly integrated yet for music (bass in music) but for movies it is GREAT!!!!!
And having the FF5 in the rear does give me some butt kickin' when there is an explosion, I get a bit of a shake. My family and I love this.
I am hopeful that the XMC-1 and room correction will let me get the most of the bass support for music without exciting some room nodes that crap up the sound. (room nodes are not a problem to me on explosions, maybe they just add to the kick, but are bad for reproducing the sound of a cello, double bass or tympani in the room, let alone a low pedal note on the organ.
Hopeful for all of us,
God Bless,
Wayne

Wayne, you might really like those Buttkickers, I've heard good things about them.

Do you already have XMC1? That has room correction like Audyssey right? I have Audyssey. I've had good luck with AUDYSSEY and miniDsp on room modes. You can also add a house curve with MiniDsp. It's a very fun cheap toy!

Yes DaveyMac, I have the XMC-1 already but not hooked up and playing yet.
I have had nothing but CRAP from AUDYSSEY!!!!!!! It is terrible IMHO.
The XMC-1 has DIRAC, which I hope will do the job for me. Similar to minidsp I have heard.
God bless,
Wayne

Wow, that's quite the setup. I've tested subwoofers behind the couch and in the rear as well, but I have found that in front seems to be the best setup for music and movies. What I've noticed is that I can still feel the bass at the couch position, and in fact in other parts of the room, even though the bass is all physically at the front sound stage. Room modes are such a try-and-see approach and a big pain.
7.1 today, moving to 7.1.4 tomorrow
(2) Triton Two - front mains
(1) Sat 60C - center
(2) Sat 50s - sides
(2) Sat 50s - rear

Hi T Cobe,

I have my Paradigm DSP 3400 set up about 8 feet behind my listening spot, about one foot out from my rear wall and about three feet from the corner of the room. I am driving my Paradigm from a separate AVR which allows me to adjust the LF input to the Paradigm separately from the my T1s. I am generally not aware of the Paradigm unless I turn it off.

If I had a second separate powered sub, I would put it on the other side of the rear of my room, but I don't plan to buy one.

Best,

Art
