Po,

With the T1s, I don't feel additional subwoofer "power" is needed. I like the idea of better dispersion with the T2s as surrounds but the T1s have crazy bass in my system. T5s for surrounds with a FF4 set up to the rear may be a great solution for dispersion as well.

You're spot on with the SSXL. It is a great speaker! To me, it sounds very similar to the T7s. On it's own, it sounds great, but put it next to a T1 and it's not equal. Those that say it is should simply buy 3 SSXLs and save the money they would have spent on T1s. ;) The T1s are so good that they can effectively camouflage the SSXL by creating the phantom center we hear about. That said, it is the best match for now and I wouldn't trade it for anything else currently available. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that GET cooks up a horizontal arrangement of the T2 or T1! Come on bigger brother!!!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Great info! I'm happy I learned what bi-amping is!

If all these other channels with Atmos are full range, then I think I will suspend 6 triton 1's from my ceiling. I'll be sure to post pics.

Haha. Seriously though, this settles it. I'm skipping Aon 3's next week. I'm going to save for triton ones up front and move my t5's to the rear. That should be pretty killer along with my dual subs near field.

Thx for all the advice on amps!

Two more T5s would be great too with the subs you already have, not that I would steer you away from the T1s. You really can't go wrong either way. In fact, the Aon 3s would be satisfying surrounds to most listeners as well. They are great speakers and pack a pretty good punch for their size.

Cheers,

T Cobe,

I agree with most of what you have said, but I must say, although it is not the power of seperate subs that are needed, the added dynamics of proximity is very welcome, especially in my experience!

Thanks
Po

Po,

That may have been what I was referring to as dispersion. Right now all my bass is up front. I'd like some to come from behind my primary seating. Is that what you meant by proximity? If so, I think we are 100% on the same page. That's why the T2s may be best for my surrounds. Besides that, I had such a difficult time integrating my Paradigm sub, it makes me leery of attempting another outboard sub. Then there's the added floor space and clutter...

Cheers,

T Cobe

T, did you have outboard when you had T1's? You might find it a lot less difficult to integrate sub while having T1, as they are essentially two more subs.

I have very high output 15" subs, and literally have one next to my MLP. It doesn't seem excessive, but definitely adds a lot. If you could demo a FF , it might be worth checking out.

Or if you wanted more tactile response, you could get some Buttkickers/tactile transducers.
