Oh Man, I need to watch some movies.
Football and other things going on have kept me from watching any blu rays, other than a couple with the family that I have already reported on.
However, I saw Anthony Hopkins in a movie tonight on the TV, not blu ray, but played over my wonderful GEt surround system none the less. It was called "Solace" and needless to say it was WELL ACTED. Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Abbie Cornish, and other good actors are here.
Well worth the watch as a good movie, no idea what sound would be like. The movie is like two years old, so Hopkins must be getting on a bit.
God Bless,
Wayne

Tonight we did not have any good new ones to watch, but it was movie night. So we watched one of my favs, "The Fifth Element" which has GREAT sound!!!!
It is Dolby True HD 7.1
PQ is really special too, the sound though is over the top. Every scene change, heck, often on camera changes, anything that would change the acoustics gets and appropriate change in sound with it. Check it out.
It is a FUN film, Luc Besson is the BEST!!!!!
Yes, some goofy stuff in it, but that too is all part of the fun.
Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich work very well together.
IF you have not seen it in a while, give it another chance, you will not regret it.
Course the scene with the DIVA singing and the ensuing fights, then firefights just take the cake.
We spend all this time, trouble and money on our home theaters, ENJOY it!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey, Wayne

Funny you should mention “The Fifth Element”! I just watched a remastered version the other day. It’s been formatted in Atmos. The cover says “mastered in 4K immersive audio”, whatever that’s supposed to mean. But it was for sure Atmos formatted.

I second all you said. Good flic, entertaining, and SQ to match!

Tonight a good one, not great but very decent entertainment.
Especially when you really like all the actors in the movie, every old guy seems like an old friend in "Going in Style".
Fairly predictable stuff here, but fun. Heart warming.
Good writing and acting.
PQ was quite good, SQ was nothing special in DTS HD 5.1
RECOMMENDED

Watched "Rough Night" with some pretty good actresses in it, notably Scarlett Johansen, who should chose her parts more carefully.
GROSS, ROUGH, NASTY, and sorta funny. The best thing about this movie is that Zoe Kravitz is in it.
PQ was OK as was SQ, only 5.1 and nothing special, actually I could not notice it had surround sound at all.
The songs had the nastiest words, I could not believe it.
NOT RECOMMENDED.
