Guys

It's not about the Spatial Audio M3's or the electronics he's reviewing...it's about the AntiCable Reference 3 powercords and the impact they make on the system he's reviewing.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

I LOVE you GUYS!!! I made a comment on the Emotiva forum on a thread based on surge suppressors. I described my setup with the Panamax M5300PM. I received an arrogant response " I have been the subject of a power surge and lost equipment" I use Name brand PS equip. This arrogant individual implied Panamax was not a trusted MFG and I was inept for using it. I understand and encourage constructive criticism, but based on fact. This dolt has never heard of Panamax. I have used them in an industrial application for years. These guys know what they are doing!!!!!!!! We audiophiles are benefiting on the lessons learned by Panamax experience in this field. This is why I am so adamant on the power cord thing. Finding what will benefit us all!!!!!!

I have purchased 3 AudioQuest NRG-X3 cords. I will publish a test report soon. I plan to eval the Anti cables also. The AQ cables were available sooner so I am using them to see if it makes a difference. I have them hooked up now.

For the record I DO BELIEVE YOU ALL HEAR A DIFFERENCE!!!!! That is not in question my brothers! I am looking for a way to quantify what we hear and what works for an environment:) I have been a network/data com test engineer/manager for the past 30 years. I know how to eval equipment and environment's! We each have unique environments, I have created an Excel sheet test plan. I can add/expand currently I am looking at power cables.

Hi, Splash51

Good for you! The more eyes AND EARS testing, the better. We'll all be interested in your findings on the AudioQuest and Anti-Cable power cords. I like the systematic way you are approaching this!

Happy listening!

I read posts on the other forum a lot. There are some smart people on that forum and I really appreciate the interaction from the Emotiva folks. Unfortunately, there are some bad eggs on there that like to state their opinions as definitive facts. There is far too much negativity there for me. A forum should be about sharing ideas, experiences, and asking questions without fear of being belittled for doing so. Essentially, what we have here!

I look forward to hearing your impressions of the AudioQuest cables. I have ordered two inexpensive Pangea cables based on the cost and the fact that GET uses them in their setups. I will share my impressions as well. I will be happy with the improved appearance and if I hear any positive impact. I've read a lot of positive reviews on-line and have heard a lot of key terms and descriptions I was looking to hear. If nothing else, it was a reasonable investment and I'm keeping with the blue and black theme.

I have ordered 2 Pangea AC 14SE Mark II cables for less than $100. My plan is to use them on my CD player and pre-amp. I may even experiment with them on my T1s and XPA-1Ls. The stock cables for the T1s are 14 gauge, so these should be of sufficient size. As the XPA-1Ls are only 250 to 500 watt amps, 14 gauge should be sufficient for them as well.

I look forward to hearing your findings! Happy listening and Happy Holidays!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hello Splash51!
Im using the AQ NRG 4 for my T-3 and my Marantz SR5008 receiver. I have a NRG 2 for my OPPO 105 and I am using the exact same Panamax surge protector that you have and I am using the NRG 2 as well. For me, these cables made a difference with clear sound and a smooth punchy bass. I love these cables and if anything I will upgrade to the NRG 4 for my OPPO down the road. I have to say if I haven't purchased the AQ cables I would of tried the Anti Cables reference 3 myself. They have awesome reviews. I am also curious how the NRG X-3 will sound with your speakers.
