Rick, Buddy,
That there is a slippery slope you are on!!!!!!
Bro Anthem has already slid down it and is at the bottom of the hill already!!!!!!
ha ha
He just hasn't figured out how to plug it into his toaster, his blender for power drinks has already been re-wired I am sure!!!!!!
So, we are still waiting on your assessment of how it sounds on the Oppo.
Happy listening, have fun with it, God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

The 2nd Anti-Cable arrived today.

I immediately attached it to the OPPO 105 (the first is attached to the Marantz AVR).

The first DVD I tried was Eric Clapton's Crossroads, a 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio disc. I wanted to hear Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven", again in full 5.1 surround, in analog feed to the the Marantz.. Yup, even more clear and transparent.

Then, I switched to an Eagles 5.1 DVD (Farewell I Tour), still in 5.1 analog surround to the Marantz. I have listened to both of these before. Well, the sound just opened up. I guess transparent is the word I want. The speakers didn't just play the concert, I was there! The Anti-Cord on the OPPO opened up the analog, and the Anti-Cord on the Marant played it through beautifully.

I am keeping both the original Ant-Cable and the 2nd I just got. If I had to choose just one, I guess it would be the the first one, on the Marantz, since it affects all the inputs. The biggest affect on the OPPO was when it was in analog out mode (5.1)

Do power cords make a difference? YES, for me.

Let me put this in perspective. I am back to what I said awhile ago on the this thread:

The first and most important choice is speakers.. Only they can play what you want to hear. Of all the choices I have made in the last 2 years, the one I absolutely will not give up is the T1's fronts/SCXXl center/T2's surrounds. They continue to mesmerize me. They will play whatever is sent them and bring me to concerts, tears, whatever. They just give great sound!!! Enveloping, complete, rich.. I run out out of words. It's like there aren't speakers or systems there, just being at the concert surrounded by the instruments, voices...

Audition/choose components (AVR's, integrated, pre's/pro's, whatever) that complement the listening preferences you have.

Also do the same with interconnects/cables.

As a last step, because the affect of power cords is so dependant on what the speaker/component/cable system is, consider trying power cord upgrades as a way to further open up the sound of your system.

I am completely happy with my system, now, as it is. I am AT concerts I listen to, the SQ is just so pure and transparent.

I just spent the last hour listening to streamed music (Amazon MP3 level stuff via SONOS). The Marantz has a MDAX feature where you can have it do some upsampling in the bass and treble areas to help restore some of the compression loss.

I have used this MDAX feature before when streaming MP3 level music. NEVER has it sounded this clean, pure, detailed. I could swear I was listening to lossless music from a CD. The only difference I can point to is the Anti-Cable. Usually I can only listen to MP3 source music for a little bit before the lack of clarity and detail gets to be a bit boring . Not this time.

I guess I had thought I had pretty much described what my system with better power cords could do..

Well, this might sound like "True Confessions", but I really have to describe what I have recently experienced.

I am very familiar with the Roy Orbison Blu-ray DVD, "Black and White Night". I have played it on a number of systems, starting with a Panasonic DVD player and Bose 901's. I just love his voice played on great speakers... on so so speakers, not so amazing.

Every time I have upgraded my system, the sound of this DVD gets better. The last couple times I had played this DVD, it was after adding the OPPO 105 (much more clarity) and putting the Anti-Cable on the Marantz AVR (again, more clarity).

Well, I listened to this DVD again yesterday, after having also added an Anti-Cable to the OPPO. To say that I am familiar with this this DVD would be an understatement. Sometimes I listen to just one or two songs, and that seems enough. This time, the performance just glued me from start to finish. At the end, after Roy sang "Pretty Woman", and the a whole gang including Bruce Springsteen played electric guitar fills, I just stood up and kept saying, "yes", with tears in my eyes, also "Holy ****". "Holy ****"!! (sorry for the cursing) And I am NOT an emotional person. EVERYTHING just stood out! I was there, at the concert, hearing every nuance! I normally love acoustic (unplugged) guitars, and think electric guitars are a tad too harsh, metallic. Not this time. It was just mesmerizing. Every instrument, every voice, just WAS THERE, clean, clear, pure, so perfect.. No harshness at all. I would have loved to be at that concert... well I was there, finally.

Wow. Wow. Did the anti-Cables add to my system's ability to deliver great sound? Heck, yes. Would they help anyone else's system? I have no idea. It starts with great speakers and components, but surely some systems would greatly benefit from better power cords. Is it worth considering? I sure think so.

Anthem has mentioned on several threads that his system just plain got better with anti-Cables. Well, so has mine, in spades.

My sentiments exactly...I'm with you brother. You said a mouthful, and it's all true, every last word. There is nothing more to add, you said it all. Well done, Rick.

Guys I am pretty jealous about these cords! :) They sound incredible. I can't seem to find anywhere that sells these cords for the Australian power sockets. Am I missing something obvious here and if anyone can direct me to a seller who sells these cards for Australians please let me know.
