I'm also interested in your opinions and actual findings with your entire system, not just the GoldenEar subs. My local GoldenEar dealer has a used Richard Gray's Power Company 1200c for sale.

MOBrien,
I am not the one to say, I have only bought GoldenEar speakers, MY EARS are certainly NOT Golden.
So I will tell you what I know, and that is not much. I will be buying a power conditioner for my new speakers and home theater MOSTLY because I live in Thailand where the power may fluctuate more than it does in the USA (though Houston, TX was the worst place I ever lived in my life for power outages) and to protect my equipment.
I have blown an Apogee ribbon tweeter with a power surge once, in Kuwait; not fun to replace.
But sound wise I was listening to an amp demo one day with some pretty cool tube amps and the salesman suggested that I really needed to listen with better cables. And he said the power conditioner made a world of difference too. He changed out speaker cables first to MIT and the sound changed immediately, greatly for the better. Clear and unmistakable improvement. He turned off the power conditioner and turned it back on a couple of times. I could kinda hear that there was some small difference, but not sure what nor if it was good or bad. I bought the MIT cables on the spot. Not the power conditioner.
Just my 2 cents worth.
But have fun listening, you may well hear much more than I did.
God Bless,
Wayne

Back on topic, I plan on putting the factory spikes on my Triton 2's this today. I have hesitated to do this because I have been moving the speakers a lot to get the best sound. I think I have finally found their permanent location. I think in my situation it should make a noticeable difference. My room is carpeted with an area rug over the the carpet. The base of the speakers sits partially on the carpet and partially on the area rug (see attached pic). The spikes should allow me not only to firmly plant the speakers onto the carpet, but also to level the speakers.

I think you are definitely right. In your case the spikes should make a real difference.
And thanks for the pic, what a lovely setup you have!!!!!
Good for you buddy,
Enjoy and please let us know how it works out.

For preamps and all source electronics I use a Furman Elite-15 PF I. For all amplifiers, including Triton 2 subs, I use a Emotiva cmX6( common mode AC line filter). The cmX6 acts as an extension of a wall outlet... it provides headroom without limitations as compared to most power conditioners . Does it make a difference? Sure.....but minimal.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Moderator Dude, any thoughts on power conditioning for the speakers or is that not really an issue?

Generally, spike protection is a good idea for anything plugged into the wall outlet. For Triton speakers and ForceField subs, I would not expect any sonic improvement (everyone's ears are different, of course) from "filtering" like one might on electronics. We do use a high-end power bar (filtering and surge) at the trade shows (sorry, don't know the brand) for everything except the big Pass power amps, speakers and subs included.

Personally, I am a fan of the Richard Gray products and much prefer them over typical spike protection devices. I have one of those plugged into circuits on both my "big" systems' (HT and Stereo).
