That is the kind of thing I do: listen to informed advice. But that is some serious coin for spikes. I hope they are good ones, more than that, I hope the sound improvement will be well worth it.
Please let us know. We will need a report, please.

Spikes arrived yesterday, installed them last night. With these spikes the Triton 2's have a more upper end look...sexy if you will. Floor standing speakers have always been a struggle to dial in the sound, these are no exception.

In the past 25 years the Aon 3's have been the most impressive speakers I've owned. I believe it's the bass drivers being up off the floor.

Anyway, I'll give the Tritons a musical workout and see if they are here to stay...spikes and all.

Those spikes do indeed make the speaker look sexy!!!!
But we are looking to you to tell us how they make the speakers sound?
That is quite a statement about the Aon 3s. And, although I was impressed with them for sure, they could not better the full range Tritons IMHO.
But I do agree, you have got to get them dialed in, position wise. And, perhaps, somewhat associated equipment wise. Though that is harder (well, more expensive--therefore less do-able).
Still, we are looking to hear from you, what do you think? Do the spikes make a good difference? If so, in what ways?
And an overall sound impression.

My time with the threaded heavy feet v.3 spikes didn't go as planned. When installed they brought the speakers 2 inches higher up off the floor. The sound stage collapsed and imaging just wasn't there. Played with placement but to no avail. Some recordings did sound good (the bass in particular). Frustration set in this afternoon and the sound seemed to go from bad to worse. I took the spikes off (spikeless) and of course they sound better. I guess floor standing speakers with spikes are not in my future. Could they work for you? absolutely. I've always wanted to try them and now I have. They have a 30 day return policy so I'm sending them back. Will be exchanging for some Clear view Double Helix plus Version speaker cables.

Wish me luck...I'll need it!!

Very interesting about the spikes, at least they looked good. But that is a good heads up for me to be sure the ones that come with the speaker HELP the sound, not HURT it. I will check when I can. Soundstage and imaging, check.
I was looking at your nice pics of the spikes, and it looked to me that those kind of spikes might still rest some of the weight of the speaker on the carpet. But I couldn't really tell. Were they penetrating the carpet and coupling the speakers firmly to the floor, or not? Just wondering. 2 inches higher, wow, that is a lot!!!!
I won't have carpet, but might have a rug here or there, and may need the spikes to just keep things stable, level and not resting on a rug. Will see.
