Hi mate. I can definitely see how the HT bypass feature would make the Peachtree even more appealing to many and yep Wyred4Sound still have this feature as do Naim when I was auditioning for an integrated amp. It looks like Peachtree's upcoming SonaAMP will re-introduce HT bypass (from the limited info I've seen about it so far - I could be wrong).

I've downgraded from a 5.2.4 system and it was nice for the time but I'm a lot happier with a simple pure 2-channel system now :-)

But I only say this because I rarely even watch the TV or movies these days.

Hi mate, what pre-amp and DAC are you using with the 4bsst2?

I'm using a Benchmark DAC2 as the preamp which is an amazing sounding little machine. I believe it has HT bypass as well.
I've heard good things about the Peachtree too.

Imahawki,

There really are plenty of integrated amps with HT bypass. Do you have a price range you were looking to stay beneath?

I looked at Wyred4Sound during my shopping but decided against it. I ultimately went with a preamp with HT bypass and separate amps. All 3 were less than $2k and the sound is very good. I have no regrets.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I don't have a set budget yet. The new speakers tapped me out for a while but eventually I want to get a separate front end for higher quality stereo. Did you hear the Wyred products and not like them?

Imahawki,

I wanted matching amps for my entire setup and some of the multi-channel amps are a bit odd with different wattages. I had also heard missed reviews on class D amps. Some are great with tubes in the signal path and they have come a long way but it seemed like a bit of a risk. Professional reviews are good but user feedback is limited.

Ultimately, there was enough professional and user reviews on Emotiva to steer me that direction. If I was only worried about 2-channel, I would have saved for a Hegel integrated amp. They really do sound amazing! The Halo integrated would be high on my audition list as well.

I hope you receive your speakers soon. There was a bit of a glitch when I ordered mine as well and they went out a week late. Thankfully when they did ship, it was overnight. It will be worth the wait.

Cheers,

T Cobe
