That article is interesting because it seems to imply peaks should be 85dB. I always heard 85db with peaks at 105dB. If I wasn't worried about getting kicked out by an ignorant employee who either thought I was a secret compliance checker or that I was trying to record the movie, I'd take my SPL meter to a theater.

Well done, well said Bro Anthem!!!
Now we know!!!!
BTW, you mentioned "AeonFlux", I liked that movie too, doesn't get much mention!!!!
Good article Imahawki, very informative. I have been to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, but did not notice it being
that loud! Too far away for me now, but Rick, you want to go there and order a pizza and a pitcher, er I mean take your SPL and check
the levels out for us?????
Gentlemen, this is what I look forward to and enjoy on this forum, informative exchange of information, some times some
light good-hearted banter, and a sharing on things that are important to us.
Thank you, and have a great year, don't let anyone get away with wishing you 365 days of happiness this year, make sure they
pony up for the whole 366!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Amen to the enjoyment of the information exchange AND what the light hearted banter adds to it!!

Wayne, re the Alamo Draft House, we haven't been there in years, though I don't remember their SL's being any louder than any other theater (My wife and I both like the SL's of the movies in most theaters, and think the PREVIEW SL's are WAY too loud). Do you suppose the Alamo Draft House would mind if I stood near the front, with pizza, pitcher AND SL meter in hand, to check things out???

Happy listening!

Rick
