Wayne

The wife and I saw Mission Impossible / Rouge Nation on our vacation in October. We both really liked it, and I'm with you in it being the best in the series. The sound in particular was spectacular, especially the motorcycle chase scene.

I'm so glad you've discovered that thing they call the "Volume Knob"...I've known about it for years. It's what makes Action...ACTION.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

So..... there IS a volume knob????

My wife has been telling me for years to "TURN DOWN THE VOLUME!" at times.

I was watching "Gravity" last night, reveling in the sounds of space junk colliding and flying by and overhead (a suspension of physics, obviously, since sound does NOT travel through a vacuum), and again I heard the dulcet request... "Turn down the..".

All I know is that when I can, I can play at theatre sound levels...

I watched Terminator Genisys today. I really love the entire series and this was cut from the same cloth. The plots are getting even more convoluted since the "reboot" but I still like them and have a positive bias for the series. I found the sound to be just OK... not a lot of deep bass for the amount of stuff that was blowing up. Does anyone who saw this confirm that it just was a little underwhelming on the LFE side of things?

If you like the series, I recommend this movie. If you've grown tired of the extension and reboot of this franchise or never liked the Terminator movies, you'll want to skip it.

Imahawki,

I definitely agree on the LFE. I did a write up a few pages back. I felt the same way regarding a recommendation. Fans of the franchise should really enjoy the film.

Cheers,

Oops, I stand corrected. It was page 73 and I noted a significant amount of LFE. Did you change anything in your setup? Choose the right sound format? I can try it again in the AM and double check but it seemed to stand out at the time.

Cheers,

T Cobe
