True Detective was ROUGH, nasty in places, and yet, brilliant, as much of a downer as it was nearly all the way through, it was life affirming and hopeful at the end. Surprisingly good ending.
Been watching lots of football.
Then last night it was an old one, should have been good with de Niro and Travolta as the leads, "Killing Season" was a bomb at the box office and was just OK to watch.
PQ was dark and alright, SQ was only 5.1 but good, nothing to write home about.
Nor was the writing, the acting, nor the story.
But it was not a B movie, it was not terrible, how could it be with those two fine actors?
Some language and just not really recommended but OK for an evening's entertainment if you have nobody around and nothing to do.
God Bless,
Wayne

Football season is about to start up, THANK GOD!!!!!
Finished watching season two of True Detective, was not as good as season one at all. I like all the actors, but the story was not as interesting. OK, but not as good, season one was great, IMHO.
May watch a movie here and there now, but already drafted my fantasy football team, stretched out my jock strap, ready for something entirely different, ha ha.
God Bless,
Wayne

Turns out "The End of the Tour" is a 2015 movie, I just saw it.
Literary, based on real writers, and interesting in that sense, it pretty much nails writers.
But it stars Jesse Eisenberg or however his name is spelled, I REALLY don't like him as an actor.
BORING, drags like craZy, is an uncomfortable movie to watch and seriously SLOW!!!!!
Pretty good acting I guess.
PQ is fine, SQ is by way of 5.1 surround sound and only sounds good when music is playing, then it sounded great.
NOT RECOMMENDED unless you are a literary type, heck I was an English Lit major and still found it boring.
YMMV, it was highly rated.

So tonight we watched "Get Out" with Allison Williams, a totally hot girl who gets her boyfriend, Daniel Kaluuya, into LOTS of trouble.
Totally believable, well rated movie but pretty dumb.
PQ was just fine, SQ was by way of 5.1 and not noticeable at all.
The writing and acting were alright, some nasty language.
RECOMMENDED for sorta a scary laugh.
Not great but not bad.
YMMV.

Yeah, my mileage varied on this one. Great movie, dark though, provocative in its theme. Well deserved Oscar for Jordan Peele.

"Only the Brave" would face forest fires and I am in awe of people who give their lives to do so much for others, risking it all and sometimes paying the ultimate price.
An amazing group of guys, God Bless them and their families!!!!!
PQ was quite good, SQ was only 5.1 but very good, the helicopters and planes, the fires, all made good use of the surround field.
There were a LOT of good actors in this movie, a LOT I really like, Jennifer Connelly is as good an actress as she is still great looking and that is saying a LOT.
Just my humble opinion, YMMV but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this movie.
These guys are HEROES by any measure and their story is pretty well told here, although you can never do total justice to a real hero story like this one.
God Bless,
Wayne
