This one was rated better, 3 outta 5 stars and Rotten Tomatoes gave it 76%.
"My Cousin Rachel" the Daphne du Maurier story gets pretty decent treatment here.
PQ is quite fine and SQ is 5.1 just OK, did not notice any good sound really.
The actors were fine, the story well written and done, I just don't care for romantic period pieces. This is not quite the typical story, but feels like it, suffers with the same boring stuff they do.
You may like it, I did not, cannot really recommend it. It is not disgusting like the movie I previously reviewed, just kinda boring to me.
Stay at home entertainment that the ladies MAY like better than the guys.
God Bless,
Wayne

Football season is ready to start (YES I watch even pre-season games) so my movie watching will slow down considerably.
Tonight was a fight movie, true story and inspiring, "Bleed For This". Didn't realize this one is a coupla years old, but is well worth watching.
PQ was fine, SQ was only 5.1 but when there was music playing it sounded great. Did not notice anything from the surround sound.
There was a little bad language, some titties got shown, so it might not be a kids show, but take it for what it is.
A BOXING movie.
Well Recommended, there is a LOT of heart here. Don't turn off the credits, see the real people it is based on.
YMMV, but I liked it.
God Bless,
Wayne

Turns out "American Pastoral" is more than a year old too, so this is old news.
It was VERY hard to watch, tough stuff. Well written and acted, got mixed reviews, poor and poorer.
I lived through a LOT of this and could relate. Also with the daughters.
PQ was good, SQ was 5.1 and quite good I thought, when needed.
Recommended for a disturbing look at American life in the 60s. Miss Fanning and Ms Connelly were great, don't know why we needed a British McGregor to act in an American movie, nor direct it?
Challenging stuff.
YMMV.
God Bless,
Wayne

I am taking a movie break, watching me some preseason NFL FOOTBALL, and decided to try a TV series I have never watched, "True Detective".
I am immediately struck by the fantastic writing, acting and cast, some total heavy weights here!!!
The story is challenging, a little hard to follow so far, but only through the first hour.
WOW!!!!
PQ is interesting, looks like it is meant to look a little odd. Artistic. Or that may be the poor quality discs.
SQ is quite poor on my discs, got them locally and they are not very good. But am managing.
Think I will be watching this for a bit.
God Bless,
