This one is a coupla years old, but a good one. Some bad language, be warned.
"Our Kind of Traitor" stars Ewan McGregor and Naomie Harris, the latest Miss Moneypenny among her other great accomplishments.
PQ is really quite good, some stunning European vistas, SQ was only 5.1 and nothing special that I noticed.
Interesting premise and story, some decent writing and acting, and did I mention Naomie Harris?????
Recommended, fairly good entertainment if you haven't already watched it.
YMMV.

Wayne

Last night it was a movie based on a true but VERY strange story of the guy who invented the lie detector and Wonder Woman.
"Professor Marston and the Wonder Women", sort of perverted, bad language, strange, PQ was fine, SQ 5.1 fine too, but nothing special. I found a lot of heart in the movie, never would have thought we got our Wonder Woman that way, and cannot really recommend the movie. But it was VERY interesting.

Then tonight a rough one, horrible language and Scots language, you may need subtitles. And the subtitles actually translate some of the Scots words into normal English.
"T2 Trainspotting"
The PQ was good, SQ was 5.1 and only noticeable for the loud music and LOTS of use of music in the whole movie.
This one was a surprise, actually had some heart too, and was well written, well acted. The visual aspect was quite innovative and remarkable in many ways. ROUGH, as I said, but Recommended.
YMMV.

Sometimes it is the small things!!!!

I re-organized my home theater, took out many many of my CDs which have been ripped already and put them in storage.
What SACDs, DVD Audio, Blue Ray music in jewel cases and a few demo worthy CDs I have left in my home theater, which is still probably 75 or 100, I have stacked.
Laid them down and stacked them.
They are no longer standing side by side.
Then I played "Spectre" the James Bond thriller which starts with the Day of the Dead parade and soon a BIG BASS explosion (end of the first chapter and into the beginning of the second chapter).
Before, all my CD jewel cases rattled together shaking and chittering when there was LOTS of bass BOOM. Spurious, extraneous noise that ruined the whole effect. NOW NOT!!!!
This is a little thing that made a large difference in enjoyment for me.
Took me a LONG time to do it, CDs standing in a row looks like an well organized situation and much easier to navigate.
But they were noisy. (picture of noisy jewel cases)
Now my seat shakes, the floor shakes, pretty much the whole room shakes and rolls, but it does NOT RATTLE anymore.
Hope this helps someone.
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Mercy, it does take me a while to get to things sometimes.
I had "Spiderman: Homecoming" sitting around for a few months, waiting for the girlie to want to watch it. She never did, so in the effort to clean up all loose ends, movie wise, I watched it alone tonight.
Now I am not a cartoon character fan much, not a Spiderman fan at all, sorta liked the first one a little then it got WAY over the top.
But this one actually has a likable person story line, someone you could actually care about, human story, was well written and acted. Some great actors in here, Zendaya and Laura Harrier along with Michael Keaton don't hurt--along with the usual suspects.
PQ was quite good, SQ was only 5.1 on my copy and although there was LOTS to listen to in surround, explosions and action stuff, it was not as great as I was expecting. Did anyone else experience that, or was it just my copy?????
Recommended as good escapist entertainment, a real story for once, good character development, I liked it. Surprisingly.
YMMV, and I hope you get a better soundtrack than I got. Or maybe I just need to go back and listen better, the story was good enough I paid more attention to that than the sound. Go Figure.
God Bless,

Bad language in all of these, one, "Knock Knock" is sorta old and the second, "American Ultra" turns out to be even older.
Cleaning out the stacked movies. And "Disaster Artist" an artsy fartsy disaster, not recommended at all, HORRIBLE IMHO.
KK stars Kenau Reeves and is weird, and scary. Ana de Armas alone may make it worth watching.
Beautiful girls in here, scary. PQ and SQ were OK, nothing too great. His house is awesomely decorated, which sets us up for how badly it gets trashed. Meant to be a morality tale, scary.
AU starred Jesse Eisenberg, who I do not like at all, but made up for it will Kristen Stewart who is awesome!!!!!!!
PQ was good, SQ was 7.1 DTS X it said, though my system could not play the X part, but the sound was terrific. The story was interesting too, goofy good. Recommend KK and AU as decent entertainment.
YMMV though.

OK, "Arrival" was supposed to be a blockbuster, and it got VERY high ratings, but not sure many people actually saw it.
I went to see it in the theater when in America, my daughter Hannah and I went, which was amazing because one of the main characters is named Hannah.
And spelled as a palindrome as well.
Amy Adams is quite good in this, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker not quite as good as they sometimes are in other movies.
The script is amazing, intelligent, well written and acted. Thought provoking science fiction of the highest level.
This is the science fiction I know and love. RESPECT!!!!!
PQ is amazing, SQ is almost, really could be demo quality, at 7.1 for my theater, probably Atmos for some of you so equipped.
A couple of cool scenes with helicopters and the sounds of the aliens would make good demo material, but it is not an action movie so it is not so much of a show off soundtrack.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED MOVIE!!!! I enjoyed it at home the second time around even more in my home theater.
Warning it might be a little slow and if your idea of science fiction is cartoon characters then you will probably not appreciate this one.
IOW, YMMV.
God Bless,
Wayne
