Good one Bro Art,
I am not a GB fan per se, but Aaron Rogers is my fantasy Quarter Back, so I will be cheering for him a LOT!!!!
AND I eat cheese a lot, and cut the cheese more than my wife cares for. So, I am close to being a cheesehead.
Bro Rick,
Sounds like a great listening plan!!! I love the song "My Maria" though I am WAY more familiar with the B. W. Stevenson original (have heard B.W. sing the original several times live), still the B and D cover is a great one. AND have heard Clapton sing "Tears in Heaven" a couple of times live as well. Are you sure you don't need me to come along????
Enjoy!!!!
So when do the TRefs actually make land fall at Casa Rick?
Do you get the amps at the same time?
Pls keep us informed, we are cheering for you!!!!
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey, Wayne
The plan is to come right back home today, with the Audio systems van right behind and get first the amp, then the TR's installed, move the T1's to surround and away we go. So, should. be listening and enjoying by early afternoon.

Starting to play Hi-res surround on my new set-up, not sure where best to post, as it has elements of T Ref's, Hi-res and Atmos... will post it here.
Today I played The Telarc Super Audio Hybrid multichannel DSD recording of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture played by the Kiev Symphony Orchestra (SACD-60541), upmixed via Dolby Surround to include the 4 height channels, so nine channels. I've played it on the prior T1 fronts/T2 surrounds set up before and loved it. Today it was T Ref fronts, T1 surrounds plus the fronts, center and surrounds powered via the new amp. Wow, oh wow!!!! The T Ref's just eat up Hi-res and spit out beauty, and the T1's as surrounds, well, amazing. The combined bass was awesome!!! When the cannons started firing, I literally jumped.
Instruments so clear and separated, sound so glorious. I can't imagine ANY seat at a concert providing better sound than I heard.
I REALLY like that disc! Also has 6 other music pieces by the Cinncinati Pops Orchestra, and a section called "Surround Loudspeaker Setup". I haven't listened to the setup piece, so don't know what's included.
Happy listening!

While on my recent travels, I took some portable music along, and when I listened to this concert again, I was blown away as I always am!!!! Keith Jarrett is a musical genius, and plays so inspiringly here.
And, although he is a Jazz dude, I totally get it on this concert!!!!! Well, get it enough.
Perhaps because I have listened to it so many times.
This is improvisational music of the highest order.
And the recording I have is 24/96 so you can hear all the harmonics and reverb of the hall, all Keith's movements, taps, vocalizations, etc. that are a bit distracting until you really get into the music then realize how immersed he is in his playing, and how such close miking gives us a rare treat here.
Just thinking that any of you guys trying to listen to two channel music on your new setups, might want some super recorded, natural sounding, awesome piano music.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Hi Res music!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

I can't get SACDs from Amazon any more, or at least not in a reliable fashion, so I have taken once again to Download.
This time the fine Concerto for Cello and Orchestra by Dvorak. Ivan Fischer again with the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Pieter Wispelwey on Cello is superb.
I got this one in 124 fs DSD both in stereo and multi-channel (which I have no way to play back at this time).
This is a famous work and VERY well recorded. Dvorak questioned for a long time doing a solo cello with a full orchestra, feeling, rightly so, that the cello would be so easy to drown out and overwhelm with the volume of the orchestra. But thanks to today's miking techniques, we can very clearly hear all of what the soloist is up to, and still hear it in the context of the whole orchestra. Ain't modern technology grand?
I will RECOMMEND this disc fully, warmly, I always really enjoy Fisher's work with the BFO. Though this is great, it is not quite on the level of the Rachmaninov I have so heartily recommended. This is on a level with the Fisher/BFO Tchaikovsky.
Great stuff but not reference to me. Solid.
Hope this helps someone out there.
God Bless,
Wayne
