getting back to the Rogue Sphinx....Ive read some very positive reviews on it,esp in regards to its dedicated headphone amp.

Do yall think it can properly drive a Beyerdynamic T1?

If so that might be a huge bonus ,at least for me as I dont really want to have to add a dedicated HP amp into the mix as well.

Really appreciate all the feedback. Never had a tube amp, never heard one in a good system, don't want to mess about with changing tubes or letting things warm-up. So I guess that makes me a solid-state guy??

Based on that, what solid-state amps under ~$2000 are worth an audition. Leaning toward simplicity of integrated amps. Would consider a more expensive one that could be had for ~$2000 used.

Is there really a benefit to having 200 W or more driving the Triton 2's?

Hey dcweber, the thing is, most of us will just recommend what we have, what we like.
For $2000 you can get a LOT of good, solid state integrated amps, especially if you look on audiogon for used gear. And YES, more wpc is a good thing, even with the T2s, it will drive them without so many watts, but the more the better.
Happy hunting.

dcweber: forum member SanthoshEapen swears by the Yamaha A-S2000 integrated amp. You can read his review on Amazon.com. It's under: Annon Reviewer "santy" (Wall, NJ United States) September 25, 2013...He has the Triton 7's, which by the way, he describes as, "WOW...JUST WOW".
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!
