Wow, Wayne, that was fast. You must have had them on order for a bit and been holding out on us or your dealer has some connections! Whatever the case, I'm glad they've arrived and you have them up and running. I'll be curious to hear your impressions and what differences there were between the T1s and T2s in terms of placement and tuning for optimal sound. Again, I think your excellent supporting cast will pay dividends with the T1s. Fingers crossed...
Cheers,
T Cobe

Thanks guys!!!! Yeah, my distributor is AMAZING, got them to me just like that!!!!
Thanks Art for your thoughtful comments. That has not been my experience at all, Double Bass did not work well, not sound good for me. BUT the Triton Ones DO HAVE ALL THE BASS I NEED IT SEEMS!!!!!!!!
Bro T. you can uncross your fingers, all I can say is, I am SOLD!!!!!!
The Ones are the speakers I have been looking for all my life!!!!!
Poor Old Stereo is NOT quite so poor any more!!!! ha ha
After installing the Ones (I did as Sandy recommended for the Stereophile reviewer, I put spikes in the rear and soft feet in front, to give a slight tilt down toward my listening position), I checked them out immediately on stereo with my tubed CD player in direct mode. No DIRAC (my room correction) at this time.
From all I had read, I kinda expected them to be brighter than my T 2s were, and sorta thought I would need to bring in my expensive speaker cables that roll off the high end, sweeten it up a bit. But NO WAY! The air is there, the clarity (bite on cymbals, high brass, etc), the resolution is there, but it is not emphasized or over the top. What I really think is happening is, I think the Ones bring out the warmth of my tubes like the T 2s never did. There is more space, more openness, a MUCH improved soundstage and image!!!! Greater width and depth of soundstage, better location all around.
And BIG, Beautiful bass!!!!!! WOW, finally what I have been looking for. The bottom end double bass is rock solid, palpable. The cello reaches out and touches me!!!! Agile, strong, full bass. In fact I had too much at first. I had to go back and use the DIRAC room correction that was run with the T 2s, not set up for the Ones yet, because the bass was so strong it was exciting room modes and rattling things on the shelves.
With just these two speakers playing in the place of my wonderful T 2s, I was constantly aware that these are still from the same family, of the same kind, but just bigger, better and deeper.
Will write more soon about how they stack up for surround sound, but I can tell you know, my RCA Living Stereo, 3 channel recordings never filled the front of the room, never fleshed out the orchestra the way the Ones let happen now!!!!
More to come, God Bless, Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Welcome to the Triton One Alternate Universe. Glad you are enjoying your "loaner" Triton Ones. Your dealer knew what he was doing. I expect he's already ordered the replacements for "your T1s".
Enjoy the adventure of listening to your favorite music with the T1s and, especially with your T2s in support. We will look forward to more reports.
Best,
Art

Hi, Wayne.
SO glad you got to hear, and now keep, the T1's !I guess you got the "love at first listen" bug also! Looking forward to your experiences in both surround and listening to stereo on just the T1's. While I love Dobly ATMOS surround for lots of 2 channel music and prefer surround in general, as I've said on other posts, there's just some 2 channel stuff, usually for vocals, where the T1's just plain seem to say "we've got this" and it's hauntingly beautiful in 2 channel, don't need anything else. Il Divo's Hallelujah is one of those cases. I get goosebumps hearing those gorgeous voices presented by the T1's. REAL goosebumps. Like "how can anything possibly sound so beautiful"??
Happy listening! That's an amazing system you're assembling...T1 fronts, T2 surrounds T3 rear surrounds (are you going to keep them as part of your HT, or move them as you mentioned?), plus a FF5, with fantastic source and amp gear. WOW.
Rick

Wayne,
Great descriptions of what you're hearing with the T1s! You've articulated a lot of my feelings as well. Regarding harshness, the only time I get that out of the T1s is when the source material is harsh. The T1s certainly "lift a veil" off of the music. If what is underneath is ugly, there's no hiding it...
What is your bass gain knob set at? Are you just using speaker level inputs for music? LFE for movies? I think with good amplifiers, the speaker level inputs are sufficient for bass. When I have tried using the LFE inputs for everything below 100Hz with the crossover in my processor or pre-amp, I have found that the bass is not as musical or tonally accurate. I suspect some AVRs may produce different results.
I think the bass improved within the first 60 hours or so, but I didn't notice too significant a change. I'm sure you will have a little more tweaking and tuning to accomplish. Please keep us posted on your results and impressions. I'm glad to hear you will be enjoying some POS music!
Cheers,
T Cobe

To add my two cents worth to the bass-settings discussion: I agree with T. Cobe about how different equipment might easily affect how the Triton Ones' bass. We all have different equipment, different room configurations, and different musical tastes. I think that our varied musical tastes might play a significant role in how we set up our gear.
For example, I don't listen to any rock music and my tastes in jazz run to big-band and traditional acoustic jazz groups. So, I rarely hear music with amplified, electronic bass. Yet, I like deep bass sounds when listening to music with a defined bass content. Therefore, I might tend to want additional bass, as compared to another listener who listens to music with a heavy, electronic bass content.
But, my primary musical listening preferences are classical and choral music. Bass response as part of a symphonic piece or as part of a concerto for cello and orchestra is yet another and different consideration when compared to any other music type which has a defined and repetitive bass component. Hearing the second-bass section of a choral group when they sing a Russian piece is yet another and different sound.
Fortunately, we can all make adjustments to best suit our individual tastes and to attempt to overcome whatever limitations are imposed by our equipment.
Happy T1 listening!
