Charlie,

I'm sure it looks great regardless of silver and black components. I apologize if it sounded like I was being critical. That wasn't my intent. I was just trying to picture the setup in my own mind. Regarding the T1s, I like the way the T1s blend into my home theater but truth be told I do enjoy a furniture grade finish on wood speakers. Ultimately, I wanted to pay for top notch sound and the T1s fit my room nicely. Cosmetics are very subjective and costly.

If your willing to post a pic or two, it would be great to see your setup. In either case, happy listening and thank you for turning us on to some new brands! I still need to look up your cables as well.

Cheers,

T Cobe

T Cobe,

No offense taken. I don't have a very pretty setup, unfortunately, and it's not much of a room. I have an old 52 inch 1080p Sony Bravia (dying...), soon to be replaced with an LED 4k 65 inch, probably.

Other than that, just two boxes (Oppo, amp), a bunch of cables, and the T1s.
Digital source > multiple boxes and cables that are always changing > Triton Reference speakers

The XMC-1 sounds amazing. It's a little quirky here and there. I'm not sure about the Dirac yet. I've run it a few times, 1st time I totally screwed the mic placements up, but the second time I figured it out. After Dirac the levels are off, my Right speaker is noticeably louder than the Left so I had to bring it down to match. I haven't played with any of the graphs yet either. As soon as I can get my wife out of my theater (new fallout 4 for xmas) I'll mess with it more.

Similar experience, I've owned Apogee Centaurus Majors (ribbons), Maggies, kef, still own Avantegard Duo's and to my ears, the T-1's have the best of all worlds. Each of those other speakers had a weakness that was fairly obvious, but not with the T-1's. My experience tells me that use of dirac and other electronic room correction still don't get it right, and for less money, I built my own bass traps and wall reflection absorbers. Use REW to fix and validate the results and the sound is amazing. No, not as perfect a frequency curve, but sounds so much better than a perfect house curve, so sticking with it. I think it will take more time for the electronic room correction software to figure out how to get it right-assuming you can fix everything electronically.
