Just when you thought it was over.......

Last night I was listening at lower that normal volume because my wife had gone to bed. Seems the detail I now hear at normal volume is greatly reduced at lower volume. Anyone experience it? I have had speakers that sound very detailed even at lower volumes. I doubt I will be able to overcome this but just wondered if anyone else has noticed this.

The Primaluna is boxed up to sell. Maybe I should get it back out and try it again now.

Definitely I would unbox the PrimaLuna and try it again.
It is a good idea to continue your experimentation and getting used to your new speakers.
Also, the Triton 2s are great at low volumes, but they do REALLY shine at higher volumes, they seem
to like to ROCK.

Seems the thing about tube power amps it that they can't get that super dynamic slam or crack from a snare drum or other very dynamic instrument. I want to feel it! Transistors can do it. I want my cake and eat it too.

Depends on the tube amp, though you are right about a lot of them.
From what I have heard, the PL may just be one of the best.

Lesson leaned! I spent the entire day yesterday moving the speakers around in my room. I was totally frustrated. I could not get the image to lock in. If you moved your head an inch or two left and right the image would be smeared and out of focus. I moved everything back to its original location and I was amazed! Somehow everything was perfect! What happened? The one thing I did was to point the speakers directly at me like Sandy recommends. Holy crap! What a difference! Now I'm a believer! What a fiasco this has been! Thanks to you all!
