Not Fluff indeed!!!!!
Good review Bro Rick!!!!
I was impressed to hear you compare the movie to the Broadway musical. The book and story are one of the most important in all history, IMHO. A story of forgiveness and restoration. And of course love--unconditional love. And the hatred that opposes it.

I don't like musicals and yet Broadway can do more with less it seems. A movie should be better, bigger budget, can do anywhere, get the best actors, etc. But Hugh Jackman should stick to his robots or knives, loved him in Real Steel. Anne Hathaway should stick to Get Smart, or well, lots of things. Russell Crowe is just plain old nasty and does it well here, but give me Gladiator any day.
I just did not like the music, but the sets were great.
The movie SHOULD be better, but often is not.
Your shout out to our GEt speakers is well deserved. They made this better, and your report is right on. I just don't like musicals, so did not enjoy this one either.
God Bless,
Wayne
As a follow up note, I found the 7.1 track on my blu-ray of Game of Thrones. WOW, the surround in this puppy is amazing!!! If all the seasons were done this well, I should have bought the whole series on blu-ray. Very immersive indeed!
God bless the child that's got his own.

OK, no football to watch, what is a poor boy to do????
I finally finished Season 6 of Game of Thrones, in blu-ray it was better, the sound was shockingly better!!!
Then I broke down and cracked open a made for TV series that I bought and saved for after football, "Homeland". Remember when made for TV sucked???? NOW they are some of the best, way better than movies at times. "24" is what sold me forever.
So I saw 3 seasons of Homeland sitting at the store, not expensive and bought them on a hope they would be good. Well, Nothing reference here PQ wise or SQ wise, even story wise it is not that great so far, but acting---Claire Daines is amazing, What a great actress she is!!!!! This is a revelation to me, never saw that coming.
Enjoying it a LOT because of her, and the subject matter is pretty spot on.
God Bless,
Wayne

I know I hardly ever get a concert blu-ray, and when I do I usually report that I don't like it, have nothing good to say about it. NOT!!!
ha ha
OK, I found another gem!!!!
I just watched and listened to Mumford and Sons, "The Road to Red Rocks", obviously the concert was in Red Rocks amphitheater just outside Denver, CO. God's country!!! Oh the red walls!!!!
American born, English singer/songwriter/drummer/guitarist Marcus Mumford is the lead singer and starts the concert standing playing the guitar and foot pedal on the bass drum at the same time as he is singing!!! Damn, I can't even walk and chew gum at the same time!!!!
PQ is fine, it is a night concert with some additional tour footage, good pic.
SQ is AWESOME!!!! It is DTS-HD MA 5.1 and glorious. But it is all up front, surrounds offer little ambiance, that is it. BASS when you need it!!!!!
The band is tight!!! Amazing!!!! The songs are just wonderful!!!!!
They got a big ensemble, T. there is a trombone player, Rick there is a violin and Anthem there are both trumpet and banjo for you!!!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! HIGHEST IF YOU LIKES TO ROCK!!!!!!
They are even joined by the Dawes for a song, brilliant!
Just wish it was longer.
God Bless,
Wayne

Ah, another day of "free" browsing of these threads! :P

Wayne, I'm streaming "The Road to Red Rocks" to my headphones as I write this. Good stuff! Another order to Amazon coming up, for the Blu-ray!

Happy listening!

What the heck, I just added Mumford and Son's "Live from South Africa" Blu-ray to the order... loved the way they were doing the song "Believe" and the audience interaction in the clip on their web site.
