Wayne:
It's 11:20 in the morning. It's 14 degrees and snowing. Come on over, we'll share a Great cup of coffee, have some popcorn, and watch HAIRSPRAY.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Taking a break from Game of Thrones, tonight I watched a better movie (than the others I watched recently).
"Eye in the Sky" is pretty much what you thought it would be and probably those who made it had some kind of agenda. But there was some good acting, a LOT of dramatic tension and it was as thought provoking movie.
PQ was quite good, nothing noticeable.
SQ was actually very good in the few spots that called for it. Although only 5.1 and not reference, it did add to the movie watching experience.
I don't like Helen Mirren, and I still don't. Ha ha
The young guy from Breaking Bad has been making it into a lot of my movies lately, but he is a good actor.
Recommended for what it is.

I got another rauchy one. Nasty.
"Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates".
The premise is pretty good, although from there on it is very formulaic.
The PQ is very good, both "dates" look great, IMHO.
The SQ is by way of 7.1 and is not reference at all, but serves the comedy.
If you don't mind nasty, put the kids to bed and this one might be a good laugh or two.
The guys and girls are so likable that it is hard to just dismiss it as rubbish (but it is).
Not recommended from my point of view.
God Bless,
Wayne

Well, somebody has to watch and report on these.
Last night I watched "Sinister 2", by myself of course. Not sure why we bought this, did not see the first one, I am pretty sure.
You guys do know don't you that sinister is Latin for left handed?
Dexter is right handed, that is why you can be dexterous if good with your hands, left is bad and EVIL (goats on the left, sheep on the right, REMEMBER THIS).
So much for a college education, ha!!!! Got me a job on the oil rigs!!!!
Anyway, PQ was the usual dark, grainy, scary type, evil guy in the shadows. Unless it was day time then things were fine.
SQ was only 5.1 but quite alright really. The music was used to build tension and fright, and well accented the jump out at ya parts. Pretty scary!
Really I was enjoying the use of the surround speakers, the off left and right sounds were quite good for this kind of stupid show, so much so that in the end credits I was wondering and got up and put my ears to the surround speakers, the interesting sound was not coming from them at all. Some sounds were of course, but not what I was interested in, so I found that the T Ones in the front were throwing this incredibly WIDE and 3D image!!!! I was totally impressed I must say!!!!!!
Perhaps IF you saw the first one and were impressed, which I sorta doubt (which MIGHT? of helped me enjoy this one, probly not?) then it might be a recommended, meh, NOT REALLY. Just OK unless you like this sorta thing, then go for it.
God Bless,
Wayne

Yeah, see, I didn't see the 2 there either when I bought it.

On a less sinister note, my custom in ear monitors have finally cleared customs here in Bangkok and are on their way to my house I am told.
Anxiously awaiting their arrival!!!!!

Wayne,

I'm a fan of the horror genre, though I'm often disappointed. The first Sinister movie was actually pretty decent. I thought it was better than number 2, for whatever that's worth.

Cheers,
