Just watched "No Good Deed".
PQ was fine, no problems.
SQ was great, from DTS-HD MA 5.1 there was very good use of the surround, actually the sound of the whole movie was pretty encompassing and incredible. There was storm sound throughout most of the movie, and it really set the tone.
In fact, it seemed to me that the sound was one of the most important characters in the movie.
I recommend this movie.
God Bless,
Wayne

Did you guys see "Whiplash" yet??????
The movie is amazing, well written and AWESOMELY WELL ACTED!!!!!! Rough to watch.
PQ is great, SQ in DTS-HD MA 5.1 is just wonderful.
I don't know, this is Bro Anthem's kind of music, certainly not mine.
And I don't know about the use of the surround channels, I got caught up in the movie, but the soundstage up front was wonderful.
Caravan was pretty good. What I can say is: That is the BEST drum roll I have ever heard, bar none!!!!!
You will enjoy all the effort you put into your system with this movie!
HIGHLY Recommended!!!! Miserable movie, but GREAT too!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Tonight I watched "Assault on Wall Street". It is a morality tale, a cautionary tale for the white collar rip off artists in banks, investment firms everywhere.
PQ was fine. SQ was not that hot, sound was only Dolby Digital 5.1 and frankly not up to what I have come to expect.
And that can be said for the acting too, just not really up to snuff.
Not recommended unless you are part of those who steal from the poor to make yourself rich, in which case, watch a little out!

Boy, I really know how to pick em!!!
"The Skeleton Twins".
PQ is fine, SQ on DTS-HD MA 5.1 was not noticeable in this terrible movie.
It sucked, pretty much literally.
Not recommended.

Finally I got one to write up that is a bit interesting.
Tonight we watched "Jupiter Ascending".
It is in 3D but a post processed 3D. which is not the real deal. BUT hey, this is the BEST fake 3D I have seen. It was really interesting PQ, I guess because so much of the movie is CGI, anyway, it rocked!!!!
More importantly for us girls here, SQ was dynamite!!!!
DTS-HD MA 7.1 really rocked the home theater. There was not much in the way of SUBTLE here, this was full on all around all over the place!!!!!
I did not catch heavy bass, nothing reference wise, but a further listen when I am not into the movie, perhaps it is there.
BUT on the rest of the audio spectrum, WOW. There is LOTS of action, and the sound during the action is ramped up, and filled in with choral carry-on that really sounds great.
There are lots of things about this movie, the story is really all over the place and pretty fantastic, the technology portrayed is over the top. Gravity was found in LOTS of outer-space places, and oxygen was around LOTS but not always, not so it made any sense. BUT I did like the skating with the powered boots.
Did I mention that Mila Kunis stars in this monstrosity of a movie??? She was totally wasted in this movie. She can be awesome, but was NOT in this movie. OH, there was some good acting of a sort in this. OK, not much.
So is it recommended? So lame a movie as this, really shouldn't be, BUT I will recommend it. Best fake 3D I have enjoyed, and quite stupendous surround sound!!!!
I may go back to this and update it. I really wanted to like this more.
God Bless, Wayne
