Tonight it was a sorta scary movie, or tried to be. "Wish Upon", be careful what you wish for movie.
I saw IMDb rated this one 2 1/2 stars, but Rotten Tomaties only 1 star, I guess I found it somewhere between.
PQ was pretty good.
SQ was by way of DTS 5.1 and nothing special, there was some good sound, one particular thunderclap impressed me. Surround not so much.
It was sorta a B movie, but the acting and script were a touch better than average.
So I will give it a sorta RECOMMENDED for light entertainment when nothing else is around. At least Sydney Park is in it, though wasted.
God Bless,
Wayne

"The Beguiled" by Sofia Coppola, daughter of the awesome Francis Ford Coppola was tonight's fare.
Still trying to figure out who the heck was beguiled?????
Why should I care?????? Because we are still waiting for something even remotely interesting to happen and the movie has been over for a few hours!!!!
Some critics gave it 3 and even 4 stars.
A movie about a Southern place during the Confederate war, starring Colin Ferrell and Nicole Kidman, guess they could not find any Americans to play the lead roles????
PQ was not great, SQ by way of DTS 5.1 was not remarkable at all.
Sorta a chick flick, sorta tried to be filled with sexual tension, but missed the boat if you asked me.
Neither recommended or not, cause the ladies MAY like it, I did not.
God Bless,
Wayne

Tonight was "The Promise" about the end of the Ottoman Empire, beginning of WWI and the Turks "ethnic cleansing" of the Armenians. It was a bit long, full story told. But VERY well done.
PQ was tremendous, very nice. SQ was by way of DTS 7.1 and extremely well done too.
You sometimes felt as if you were in a war!!!!
Not quite demo material probably, though you could.
SAD, true story!!!!
Man's inhumanity to man, WOW!!!!!
RECOMMENDED!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Tonight I watched a movie from 2015 I guess, missed it first time around.
"Irrational Man" by Woody Allen and starring Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix, who is a weird dude but a fine actor IMHO.
OK, I hate it when Woody's actors stutter talk like he does, been around his influence too long, too much, but there was none of that in this movie, at least perhaps barely so.
The writing was quite good though. The story dealt with the B.S. philosophical questions these peeps like to banter around like they are so smart. Totally fit into that academic society of a college or university.
PQ was pretty good, nothing special, SQ was by way of DTS 5.1 and although the music was sometimes good, sounded fine, there was nothing impressive sound wise here.
What it did have was a pretty funny, good ending. Surprisingly.
Because of that and the amazing Ms Stone, I have to give this a RECOMMENDED.
God Bless,

So we are kinda running low on blu rays at the moment, funny though, we have the new Spiddy man and new Transformers waiting to play but my wife and daughter have not chosen them yet.
They got a wild hair and decided they wanted to watch something involving Zombies. Well, I got like 7 or so seasons of "The Walking Dead" a show I am totally addicted to, but they have never seen.
So I put on one the other night, it is only a DVD, not blu ray, so the PQ and SQ sorta suck by my vaunted standards. But the show kicks butt. The girlie covers her face so as to avoid the blood (or whatever that is) shed, but less and less so. It is clearly a mercy isn't it?
So now they are addicted, we have finished watching the first season and are on Season 2. It may be a while before we watch another movie, ha ha.
I had football to watch anyway.
So just reporting in, any Walking Dead fans out there?
God Bless,
Wayne

My girls take forever to watch a show, all kinds of things get in the way, like school and such.
But my order came in today from Amazon, so I watched the first show from "Lethal Weapon" the TV series tonight.
It is on blu ray so the sights and sounds are wonderful.
I liked the old movies, and this team looks pretty good too.
I have liked Wayans a long time.
And I can stand Keesha Sharp being in the show too.
Any Lethal Weapon fans out there?
God Bless,
Wayne
