I finally have the turntable hooked back up. It's been several weeks. I've been playing around with speaker wire this morning as well. Things are sounding great and this album exploits it well.
I used some 18-7 wire to fabricate some speaker wire this afternoon. One wire for the positive and another for the negative. The overall gauge is around 10 gauge. The end result was greater resolution and depth while sacrificing a little bass over a 10 gauge Belden speaker wire I was using. Out of curiosity, I added the Belden with the 18-7 wire and I'm liking the results. Of course this gives me somewhere in the ballpark of 7 gauge... Definitely overkill but if I'm getting the resolution, depth, and bass of both wires, why not?
Cheers,
