What a song. With the new Mullard EL34'S and Anti-Cable Reference 3 powercords running the show, I may never leave the living room. The T2's have been sounding extra special lately.

Wink, Wink...Rick ;)

Hey, Anthem

I like the song and title!

Sounds like you're "in the Zone"! Are the new Mullard TOOBS a different brand/type than you've tried before, or replacements?

Happy listening!

You're most welcome, Rick! Glad to share my experiences. I do like the Nordost sound over AudioQuest. I didn't hear much difference between the AudioQuest RCAs and some of the cheap RCAs I had when I tested the Golden Gate RCAs. In testing XLR connectors, I found similarly priced AudioQuest cables a bit more harsh and grainy than Nordost. It really is a matter of personal taste.

I think Wayne used the Signal Cable Silver Resolution interconnects and liked them. I have also read great things about their power cables. They may be your ticket as well. Then there are the Anti-Cables. Anthem would be your best bet on those. There really are a number of flavors. I wanted to buy one that I knew I liked. There is nothing like an in home demo if you can work that out. The next best option would be a 100% money back guarantee. One thing is for certain: cables, like any upgrade with GET speakers, definitely make a difference.

How are the headphones working out?

Cheers,

T Cobe

Dave Weckl / Multiplicity (2005) -- Down on the Corner

Dave is such an awesome drummer...he really digs in on this track.

Yes Rick, the Mullards are a replacement for the Tung-Sol EL34's. They, combined with the Anti-Cable Reference 3 powercord on the T2's are making for a scrump-dilly-icious sound. So delicious in fact, that I don't want to leave my Lazy Boy. I was thinking this weekend a pair of depends may come in handy.

Ya know Rick, I Love you like a brother. If you feel like staying an extra month or three in NH I wouldn't mind...just sayin. :cheer:

Hey, T Cobe

Re headphones, I'll be ordering the Dragonfly Red tomorrow, to time it's arrival in NH with when we get back there, from NY, Tuesday. I'll advise what it does for headphone SQ.

More decisions when I get back to TX in Sept. (or as Anthem suggested, maybe stay in NH a month or two longer :P ).More Anti-Cables? Anthem's impression of what extra's on T2's add is tempting. Might have to stock up on Depends if I do. Try Nordost interconnects? We'll see.

Happy listening!

Rick

Firing on all cylinders this morning. Getting it going with a classic from The Eagles. I'm still assessing the new cables. Today I'm noticing micro details in The Eagles Greatest Hits Volume 2 that I've never heard before. I've been thinking the treble may be a bit diminished with the Red Dawns but this track is easing my mind. I think everything else has bloomed, creating a more balanced sound stage. Treble is open and airy on this track, just as I would expect with the HVFR. Boy, do I love this tweeter!

Killing time until the stores open later this morning so I can pick up a few movies. This is going to be a lazy weekend! Mid 90s and thunderstorms today will give me just the excuse I was looking for to kick back and take it easy...

Cheers,

T Cobe
