Wife is a huge Prince fan. The City of Portland lit up one of its many bridges in Purple as a tribute to his passing. As luck would have it I went out just before it was supposed to rain and captured it with some brooding rain clouds in the sky. Rather appropriate for anyone who knows his most famous song and movie he was in.

And of course here is the shot I got. 13 frames stitched together. It prints up to 40" x 135".

Roman,

That is absolutely stunning! Amazing work!! That captures the mood perfectly. Purple Rain was one of my favorite albums growing up. In fact I was just looking for it two weeks ago on my last trip to the music store. Prince is an icon of American pop culture. At just 57 years old, it's a tragic loss.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Went to a piano recital at my church this weekend - got a seat right to the open side of the piano for max listening pleasure. Then fired up my sound system today to compare in a "is it live or is it memorex" kinda way.

Listened to Kodama playing the Pathetique second movement (as in the recital) from the CDs Beethoven Piano Sonatas 1-24. Sounded very nice indeed.

And then went for broke with Alfred Brendel's CD Sonate per piano 14,8,23,26 - listened to the Moonlight Sonata - wasn't played at the recital but wanted to check it out anyway. Most excellent - sounded like the piano was in the room with me.

Nothing new and note worthy in the Jazz section today. I looked for The Bridge by Sonny Rollins but no such luck. Picked up another rock classic instead. Good sounding LP! Black Dog lacked a bit of bass but it kicked in on Rock and Roll.

Spent the day getting things done around the house today while I had a new water heater installed. I added a layer of Roxul's Safe n Sound insulation between my ceiling joists. It was very easy to work with and there was a bit of improvement with this second layer of insulation. Besides the sound, the next test will be the WAF test in the master suite just above. Hopefully the noise leakage will be diminished. For those of you needing to insulate your listening room, I'd recommend this product.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Another acquisition from today's trip to the music store. This CD was stolen from my collection years ago. From Whitey Ford Sings the Blues by Everlast: formerly with House of Pain. This disc sounds very good. Obviously the music is subjective.

Cheers,
