Charles Mingus / Dynasty (1960) -- Song With Orange

T Cobe: actually this morning I've tracked the first four songs of Mingus / Dynasty. I really like what I'm hearing, especially "Song with Orange". I think you mentioned the arsenal of horned instruments used on this particular song, and you are correct, it does sound amazing. Hope to do further listening this afternoon.

Continuing listening to "reference" material. For you jazz fans do you have the Concord Jazz Sampler V1?

I'm listening to ripped CD-quality tracks from this SACD. Very well recorded and great music. Just ordered V2.

Next up are the Telarc SACD samplers - can't speak to those as haven't listened to them on the GETs yet.

Although the Concord Jazz SACD sampler 1 has some nice tracks on it, at $44 it's to rich for my blood.

I prefer not to spend much over $10 if at all possible. Nothing in my opinion is worth $40 plus.

Charles Mingus / Dynasty -- Far Wells, Mill Valley

Early afternoon...tracking a few more from the Dynasty cd. Another interesting song (Far Wells, Mill Valley) it's fun listening to this song with all the different instruments being played, and then relisten to see if i can pick up on any instrument that i may have missed.

Excellent, excellent song.

On a lighter note...I broke my Personal Best pushup record of 122 today. I now stand at 129. Pushups are a muscle endurance exercise, and with time and practice, anyone can do a respectable amount of them.

Something a little different tonight. Anthem, I'm glad you enjoyed Mingus Dynasty. My favorite track is probably Mood Indigo, but the tracks you posted were great as well. The whole album is pretty amazing.
