Rob,

Thanks very much for the info! Glad things are coming together! Regarding adjusting your center channel angle, I recently purchased Vobrapods and Vibrapod Cones to adjust the front up on my SCXL. You should be able to do the same. Additionally, there seemed to be a placebo effect that made the sound a little more articulate as well.

Cheers,

T Cobe

The reason why I suggested hammering in the feet was because that's what is says in the manual! As you can tell, I was a little hesitant to do anything permanent.

I had some close friends and family come over and take a listen and most of them loved it. I did have some feedback that the LFE seemed to be too loud, but the bass was not loud enough. Any idea on how to correct this without using EQ? All Audyssey and EQ settings are turned off.

Rob,

Where is your gain know set? Mine is at 13:00 and I'm at -8.0 dB for LFE in speaker settings. Adjusting your levels is the norm and can be done without Audessey. You should check your manual but I think your supposed to set your levels to 75 dB with the test signal and sound level meter.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I have the subwoofer knob on the back of the Triton Ones set to the 10 o'clock position and the subwoofer setting on the Marantz set to -2.5db. I'll try to bring the knob up to 12 o'clock and the sub setting on the receiver down tonight. Thanks for the suggestion, T Cobe!

So, they thought the explosions and stuff were too loud? OK, if your system is set up properly (as L/R Large, Sub Yes, LFE cables run to both Tritons) the subwoofer level control in your receiver's bass management setup menu will adjust the LFE level (only). Just turn that down until the effects are to your liking. Don't adjust the speakers' level controls unless you feel the bass in stereo music playback is too high (or low). Don't use Audyssey unless your music playback has room related issues you want to fix.

Thanks Moderator, you are correct. The explosions were too loud and the musical bass was too low. I will decrease the bass level in the receiver and increase the sub knob on the back of the Tritons.
