Your observation is excellent. In fact my dealer said for me to live with the system for about six months or so, and then evaluate new equipment to see if I can hear enough difference to justify the purchase. I do agree with you that ideally a better amplifier for the Reference speakers would be ideal, but my original budget was about $5,000 less than I have already spent!

I did listen to the Triton One with the Anthem receiver and it sounded great to me. (Of course, I must admit that this is my first foray into high end sound.) I think as my ear develops I will upgrade some of the components and I will probably be back on this forum looking for suggestions too.

Hey, fbreynolds

I think you're on the right track! Get the best speakers your budget can afford, enjoy them! They will respond to whatever you feed them, and then upgrade feed sources at whatever pace you're OK with. Speakers ARE the limiting factor in any system. Start with that. Upgrade the feed path at whatever pace works for you!!!

Enjoy the journey!

Mr. Moderator............

How can I find out when my References are being shipped to my dealer? My dealer keeps telling me, "be patient they are coming any day." I ordered my pair the first week of February, had to plunk down a 4K deposit and was told I got in on the first production run. Other audio friends who ordered after I did already received their speakers. Any way you can help me or enlighten me?

Thank you!
