A fantastic film about love and loss from the perspective of a child that is dealing with his Mother's decline in her battle against terminal illness.

PQ was solid but the picture lacked a bit of sharpness and punch: 4/5.

SQ was great! Dialogue was clear, LFE significant, good use of surround channels, and plenty of dynamics. Darn near reference, just lacking a little of the shimmer of the best movies. 4.5/5.

If you're the macho type, you may want to watch this one alone with a few tissues. Great film and highly recommended!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Tonight it was "Masterminds".
It was just good enough that I kept hoping it would get better and I never turned it off.
OK, it might have been slightly better than that, I actually laughed out loud ONCE.
With this crazy cast, and it was based on a true story, so it had to be outlandishly ridiculous, right? It just should have been MUCH funnier.
PQ was great, SQ was fine, fit the movie, nothing interesting either way, sound or pic wise.
It was entertainment if you ain't gettin' any lately. (Entertainment)
That is all the recommendation I can give it.
I doubt if BMW actually paid them to show off their car in this one.
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Tonight we watched "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk".
Ang Lee filmed it in 120 fps, the fastest ever, and then the film flopped!!!
We enjoyed it. The PQ was astonishing, even on my 1080p TV and player!!!!!
The sound was wonderful too, especially in the war/shooting scenes. AND Mackenzie Leigh is in the movie!!!!
Steve Martin too.
The book is supposed to be a satire on WAR, but the movie does not come across that way as much. Most of the humor is lost in the movie. The lines and acting could have been a little better, OK, a LOT better. But the half time spectacle is fantastic.
JJ Watt is in it too!!!!
Oh, and Mackenzie Leigh, did I mention her?????
RECOMMENDED, PQ is REFERENCE and SQ is sorta demo quality in an underwhelming way.
We liked it, the whole family. But we are an odd bunch.
God Bless,
Wayne

Aw, gee, Wayne

No sooner do I order some discs I've seen recommended on this forum, then another one comes along...

So now this one's heading my way also.

Now and then, my sweet wife will ask, "Are those new discs for you also?", in of course a loving and kind way.

I'm lining up stuff to play and try. Reports back later.
