Hey Guys,

T Cobe, I just got to watch the mystifying Bat v Sup and your take on it is right on. I reckon. I do not have, or at least did not go for the expanded version, I watched the theatrical version. And the wife, daughter and I were asking each other 3 hours into the movie, why the heck does Batman want to fight Superman???? Yes, I know, the movie is not 3 hours long, so even afterwards we still had no clue. AND I am not sure we cared. It is obvious that they intend to make more of these, sort of their version of the Avengers? I am not buying.

Rick, I was like you, whichever of the symphonies I just listened to became my favorite!!!
Yes, you got it, what kind of a genius can keep coming up with more and better and more awesome music like that???? This is arguably the most genius music of all time!!! I am not sure it is, but one can argue that.
I can't wait until you can hear it in all it's glorious surround sound.

All the best, God Bless, Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Wayne,

I believe the bottom line is that Luthor Jr. was getting inside the heads Batman and Superman, driving the eventual conflict. Unfortunately, they did a terrible job conveying the story. The extended edition was a bit better but still lacking.

Suicide Squad was much the same. What DC movies are failing to do, that Marvel excels at, is developing the characters and telling a cohesive story. The audience develops an empathy for the superheroes and even the villains on occasion. DC seems to be directly adapting graphic novels to the screen and leaving all the gaps that the artists can't fill with limited use of words and so few pictures (in comparison to the 30 pictures a second on a film). It's more like a series of ideas or a story board: almost like reading an outline of a novel versus the actual novel itself. Put another way, the movies are all style and no substance.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thanks T, but give it to us straight, are you saying Suicide Squad sucked too????

BTW, it sucked that the NFL could not even put on a HOF game this year!!!!

Wayne,

I've been looking forward to Suicide Squad for a while. I had high hopes for the film. The cast looked good and the production value high. I was hoping it would be somewhere along the lines of Deadpool. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near It! I would say that It failed in many of the same ways as Batman v. Superman. I think they were both about 3.5 out of 5 from an entertainment standpoint. Again, all style and no substance.

The HOF game was a definite disappointment! I was looking forward to seeing the Packers play their first preseason game. Many folks don't like the preseason but I enjoy evaluating the draft picks and seeing what changes the teams have made in the off-season. The added benefit is there is nothing to lose if teams don't play well. At least there were no injuries...

Cheers,

T. you are a glass half full kinda guy!!! Yes NO injuries.
I too like the preseason to help me get ready to draft.
Heck, I just like FOOTBALL!!!!
Sad about the Suicide Squad, I too was looking forward to it. Not many good movies coming out now, IMHO.
Thanks, all the best, God Bless, Wayne

The remake of The Magnificent Seven looks promising but it has been a lackluster Summer for movies, I agree. Hopefully things will turn around this Winter. At least we'll have footbal!
