Kind of a helter skelter day at work, so decided to watch Mad Max/Fury Road - starring Tom Hardy as Max, and Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa. Fast cars...hate em! Super Charged Tractor Trailers...ridiculous. Pretty Girls...disgusting. Bullets flying left, Bullets flying right...boring. Fight scenes...give me a break. Then there's the foundation heaving explosions...don't get me started. Did I have a good time? sure did, no boredom here. This is a man's movie. This is what men watch (action) when not listening to jazz.

I agree with T Cobe on His review of Fury Road...nothing more to add. PQ & SQ were top notch...reference material for sure.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

We bought Mad Max, but it turned out that the wife only got the DVD, not blu-ray. So I am not expecting to be blown away like you guys were. Will see when I get around to it.

OK, so last night we watched "Halo, Nightfall" which is a Microsoft game, maybe, or a TV show, not really sure. But it was a movie with OK PQ and SQ was by way of DTS-HD MA 7.1.
Honestly this was BORING. So poorly written I could not believe it.
It would be enough to make someone an Apple man IF I didn't hate them so much.
NOT Recommended.
Then tonight we followed it up with "Vice". I mean, Bruce Willis, can it be bad???? YES!!!!!
Terrible!!!!!
PQ just OK and SQ by way of DTS-HD MA 5.1 was not noticeably better than TV.
Poor writing, poor acting, actually the choice of actors was awful, IMHO.
This is a poor man's "I, Robot" with a much better looking robot. That is the only thing good I can say about this mess.
Best line: "It's not every day one gets to meet his maker".
NOT Recommended.
God bless,
Wayne

We only found this one, "Child 44" as a DVD, and the sound was WAY off from the motion and it was a depressing movie and I could not finish it.
The premise is that "There is no murder in paradise". So there cannot be murder in Stalin's Russia. ha ha
I had high hopes for this one, great actors in it, but I guess the horrible situation under Stalin is not really my cup of tea.
Cannot comment on PQ or SQ.
NOT Recommended. YMMV.

Sorry about the stinkers, Wayne. It's been a slow few months for new releases. October should be a bit better. In the meantime, I've been watching a lot of Netflix series and network television. Next week marks the start of the new Fall line up. There's a few programs I'm excited about.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Yeah, thanks T. Cobe, I just finished all of "FRINGE", which was quite alright. And now we got the Fifth season of "The Walking Dead".
And now that the NFL is playing football again, a few University teams around the US are playing too, there is plenty to watch.
Better than thinking about the real problems in the world, all of which I can really do nothing about.
God Bless,
Wayne
