Rotten Tomatoes saved me from this one ... I too was hoping for some fun (and some eye candy...).

OK, I finally broke down and watched "Mad Max, Fury Road".
I did not expect to like it.
I can't believe I am saying this, but I quite enjoyed it. It held me gripped in tension nearly the whole time.
Some amazing creativity in the script, Amazing stunts.
I only had a DVD so will not comment on the sound nor picture.
But that was a heck of a sound system for the whole road crew!!!!
And Charlize Theron cutting off her arm to make this movie, that is some sacrifice for artistic work.
And the baby making eye candy was good too.
Strangely Recommended.
God Bless,
Wayne

This afternoon watched The Cobbler..Max Simkin (Adam Sandler) repairs shoes in the same New York shop that has been in his family for generations. Disenchanted with the grind of daily life, Max stumbles upon a magical heirloom that allows him to step into the lives of his customers and see the world in a new way. Sometimes walking in another man's shoes is the only way to discover who you really are.

A so-so, take it or leave it, type of movie. PQ wasn't that great...contrast was weak. SQ was good, but nothing to get overly excited about. 2 Stars.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Wayne,

Another new avatar? Is that the front of your room? Where are the T2s? Are those a pair of 7s or 5s? Nice looking setup! I like the glass rack. Very clean setup.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thanks guys, but I do not have that extensive a music collection either. But want to have. I only have around 200 or so CDs and a couple/three dozen more SACDs/DVD-A. Perhaps another 100 albums files, some HI-RES but most not. Some Blu-ray music and concerts but not nearly enough. These are my preferred music format.
More money and effort invested in Blu-ray movies and DVDs. We love movies around my place.
Cables, I have heard a lot of good things about Kimber, but it never worked as well as Nordost for me. I don't regularly use either. Both of those work better for me than AudioQuest. But for my buck, one has to get into the really expensive Nordost, Kimber or AQ, REALLY expensive before I can tell much improvement. In my humble opinion/experience good, competent cables (silver for me, unless for long runs) do 95% of the job for me, for a fraction of the cost of the REALLY great cables.
I have some MIT that costs and performs WAY up there. I can't afford to do that for my whole system.
I have to keep it real.
And I have and I really love the sound of music through my GoldenEars!!!!
Enjoy the hunt boys.. It is all fun.
Happy Listening, God Bless, Wayne

Hey T.
Thanks once again for the kind words.
The new avatar is my living room system, second system.
Those are T 7s (another pair, I am a VERY blessed man!!!!!). Although there is a TV and Blur-ray, there is no surround sound here.
People can watch TV, watch a movie, but mostly it is to play music in the living room, next to the dining room while we have a nice dinner. This system has TOOBSSSSS. Calm music, female and male solo vocals, chamber music, folk, piano, guitar, small rock, but mostly classical music is played here.
There is not that much bass, but what there is is natural and lovely. With the tubes (only 46 wpc) it is not overly etched or analytical, this is a musical setup.
Those that listen to music on this system feel like it is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! REAL sounding.
If they appreciate music there, then they are blown away by my T 2s and surround system in the home theater.
Is this hobby fun or what?????
God Bless, Wayne
