Hmm, at that price, they have some steep competition. That's a huge jump in price! Maybe we need a level 4...

My 6' pair would run more than a pair of 2.5 meter Nordost Heimdall speaker wires. I relaize that precious metal costs a lot more money, but that was a big jump. Nordost uses high quality copper with a silver layer over that. Being around the perimeter of the conductor, this is supposed to be where the high frequencies travel. They also use a bit of technology to place an air gap between the conductor and teflon insulator over roughly 80% of the surface area.

Mr. Speltz may have gotten ahead of himself on this one. He's definitely going to need to do some marketing on this one. A few professsional reviews from big publications would certainly help. I'm not sure people are going to shell out $2k simply by word of mouth from people like us...

In either case, the Level 3 speaker wire is a fantastic deal! I'll likely be getting a long run for my center channel and call my front end good for some time to come. I've slowly been chipping away at my home theater interconnects and things are sounding very good.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Lee Ritenour / World of Brazil (2005) -- Wind Mill

Nice song for a lazy, cloudy, rainy Saturday afternoon.

Hey folks, would love feedback from anyone that has Misty by Yamamoto Tsuyoshi Trio (on Sandy's demo list).
I got the SACD and it's painful to listen to - now I know what people mean when they talk about etched or brittle high notes - the high notes on the piano are sharp, etc.
I tried via the oppo 105D, and also ripping the cd to my mac mini
Integrated amp is Peachtree Nova 220SE, T1s, Acoustic Zen Hologram II speaker cables.

Had the same sound problems both from Oppo and ripped playback, so I think the problem is the Peachtree.

So, anyone else have this disc, and if so how do the high notes sound to you?

(Considering getting a separate amp to solve this kind of problem, maybe the Rogue Audio Medusa)...

Thanks!

Btw currently listening to my 1st and only so far blu-ray audio disc - Beethoven 9 symphonies (on 1 disc!), Karajan, Berliner Philhamoniker - sounds terrific, luscious, full, so far.

Lee Ritenour / Color Rit (1989) -- Tropical Storm

Great cd.

Pbglavin: why so quick to blame your Peachtree?
You have some great equipment there, I wouldn't be so quick to blame your equipment. Nine times out of ten it's the recording. Just because it's an SACD doesn't mean it's perfect.

Hey Anthem,
Well as a reference tune for Sandy it's probably well recorded, but that's why I asked if anyone else has it. Borrowing a tube amp would make an interesting test though!
