Muriel Anderson -- "Why Worry"

Saw this, this morning, on my Audiophile.online news feed.
She's mighty impressive.
She plays on a Brunner Compact Harp Guitar.
Rick: this one's for you, Baby!

Thanks, Anthem!

I can't say as I'd heard of Muriel Anderson before, or Brunner Compact Harp Guitars either. Neat! It turns out that she has recorded quite a bit of music, and DEEZER has lots of her singles and albums to stream. Here's one I found with her on harp guitar, with guitar accompaniment, Here Comes the Sun, written by George Harrison and originally performed by the Beatles.

I like it!

Rick

Dave Douglas & Keystone are a little different from what I was expecting. Good album! A bit on the funky side, like Head Hunters, but more modern. Very laid back and relaxing. It's hard to imagine working out to this one. ;)

Cheers,

I'm giving Flight of the Cosmic Hippo a spin on LP this morning. Picked this up last weekend and hasn't had a chance to listen. It's a WB release on some pretty thick medium. No snap, crackle, or pop whatsoever. SQ is pretty solid. There isn't much, if any, banjo on this track. I don't want anyone to start their day red in the face...

Cheers,

T Cobe

Sean Jones / Gemini (2005) -- Into the Sun

Another new arrival.
Sean is kind of a cross between free jazz and smooth jazz.
Many good tunes here.
The majority of the cd is uptempo.
Tia Fuller plays flute on one of the tracks.
And there's even a track or two with heavy bass.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

By way of Wayne, Art, and Eiffel62 I finally picked up the RCA Victor Living Stereo version of Bolero. Of course, I'm listening in 2-channel this morning. I can see why everyone likes this one. Great recording and performance!

I've never been one for cable "break-in" periods or upgraded power cords but I have to say my mind has been changed on both. Now that my power cords have 100+ hours on them, I have put the 18-7 speaker wire back in place and the harshness is gone. The rock solid imaging, dynamics, and micro detail are back. By comparison, the stranded wire seems to smear the sounds together a bit.

Cheers,

T Cobe
