I found your comments about the snare drum interesting. I have been listening to lots of classical music (might post on that on the other thread, not to bother this elevator music thread, ha ha) and it made me appreciate the tympani more, a "tuned" drum.

Glad to hear from you, Wayne! We do post a lot of elevator music but I listen to music with explicit lyrics as well, so I choose not to post those. Jazz is approved for all audiences and I do listen to that most. Right now however, I'm listening to The Chronic 2001 from Dr. Dre. The Tritons are sounding like monsters!
Regarding the snare drum, it's mostly just the scraping of the brushes that I don't like. I love the snare otherwise. Percussion in general adds a lot to music for me. Usually it's the bass, though not as much with the snare. You know how bass heads love the thump of a good bass groove.
