Sonny Clark / Cool Struttin (1958) -- Royal Flush

Royal Flush...the name says it all.
Sonny, Art, Jackie, Paul, and Philly Joe do a phenomenal job on this one.
If you haven't heard it, take it for a spin...I think you'll like what you hear.

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood.
The Torri and T2's are firing on 17 cylinders this morning.
Remind me again why I need the T2 + or the T1's ;)

Anthem,

Need is very subjective! Nobody "needs" a pair of T1s or T2+s. Of course, nobody needs to do 120 push ups either... If I already owned a pair of T2s, I'd be a happy camper. It certainly wouldn't be worth $3,500 to upgrade. Throw in a Dewcare amp and a good CD player and your golden! The only thing one could ask for after that is a comfy chair, a glass of scotch, and a classic jazz album!

Cheers,

T Cobe

P.S. I'll be Cool Struttin' in two days thanks to Amazon Prime!

Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers / Moanin (1958) -- Blues March

Haven't listened to this cd in awhile, good music, but recorded poorly.

Keep my T2's?...you boys sure ain't helping Bro Anthem spend his hard earned moolah.
If a modify/upgrade becomes available for the T2's, that's probably money well spent.

If you were starting from scratch, I'd say T1 or T2+. If an upgrade becomes available, that would also be worth it as well. If you already own a pair of T2s, it doesn't make sense in my mind to buy the T2+ or T1. Point of diminished returns and all... Of course, if you can do what Rick did and put the T2s in the surround position, that would be impressive.

Haha, Anthem, you can't make me buy that album: I already own it!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Amen to all the above!

To quote a saying from somewhere, "There's no weak sisters in the bunch". I haven't heard a GEt speaker yet that I didn't LOVE. I have no idea of the technical issues to create a speaker line-up that plays together flawlessly, seamlessly. All I know is that any/all GEt speakers do.

I ended up with T1's in addition to T2's because as another "basshead" I was on a search for "more balanced bass" than the HT set-up I had. I couldn't imagine parting with my T2's when I added the T1's, and knew that with both T1's and T2's, I would have bass to spare and wouldn't need a separate sub, so I kept them both, T2's as the best surrounds I could imagine. (A phone call with Sandy convinced me that this combination would be fantastic). Well, it is. Bass and musicality in spades. I won't say the T2's are the exact equal of the T1's. The T1's deserve their place as the top of the line. (Listen at your own risk). BUT, the T1's, T2's and SCXXL play together gloriously, and no weak sisters. The sound field envelope just puts one in the most amazing cocoon of SQ one can possibly imagine. There's no drop-off in SQ anywhere. I can walk around within the room and be amazed at how perfectly they complement each other and blend their sound together.

We're all so fortunate to have found these amazing speakers and this amazing company that produces and supports them. I've been looking for a LONG time for a speaker system that provided gorgeous music at any sound level. I have found it, and I'm sticking with it. Any GEt speakers fit that category. Hat's off to Sandy and his team. I've never enjoyed music or HT as much as I can now.

"Sweet Old World" by Emmylou Harris, from her album Wrecking Ball (no relation to "The Boss's" album of the same name).

A sad, sweet song. Apparently Emmylou first sang it as a tribute to her friend Gram Parsons, who passed away back in the '70's at the age of 26 or 27.
