We all have our music "niches" that wake something up (or relax) something in our brains. For me, Ray Charles's "Genius Loves Company" relaxes something, anything Eagles wakes something up, classical can do either, same with pop, and most rock and roll works for me. Heavy metal just turns off my "music detectors". Too much harsh sound for me. And, I'm trying to learn more about this style called jazz.

I guess we all have slightly different music vibe sensors. Maybe that's why I like to play a bunch of different styles on playlists, to wake up or relax different portions of my brain.

I do know I like sampling EVERYTHING that's posted on this thread. So, thanks again to all for taking the time to tell us what's being played at your place. I'm all ears, and learning constantly about new artists, new genres. Our GEt speakers never fail to deliver the best a recording has to offer.

Happy listening!

Hey, Anthem

In keeping with my policy of sampling EVERYTHING posted on this thread, I played this first on the computer speakers and thought the guitar sound was harsh, but to give it a fair trial, streamed it on the GEt's. I must admit the GEt's did get the attention of my "music detectors". The sound of electric guitars "cleaned up" nicely. Ozzy had never seen the light of day on my system before (my wife, hearing this song, and then "Steal Away" from the same album, asked "What's gotten into you???").

Still not my favorite kind of music, but, as usual, GEt's bring out the best a song has to offer.

Thanks, and keep posting!

Ah, a little C+W... Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried". GEt speakers REALLY deliver the rich timbre of Merle's voice.

(Besides, in the interest equal sharing, I wanted to give my good buddy Anthem another chance to listen to one of his favorite music genres!! )

Who really surprises me though is The Space Cowboy (ROMAN)...for a guy that the sun doesn't rise til 1 pm...likes to smell "just cut wafts of grass"...and appears to be in constant "Zen"...his liking of Donald Byrd surprises me. I guess you really can teach an old dog a new trick.

Well part of that is right, but I do get up usually at 4:00 AM (that's before the chickens....lol) But Good music is good music. I bought my system for my editing room. Yeah...I am rather on the wispy esoteric side of things, but it does not stop me from seeing the good in anything that has good in it. :)

Interesting. Pop artist that is actually talented....not to mention she really is a good person.
