Listening to Moodswing by Joshua Radman this morning. This is a great track to highlight the air that can be achieved by the HVFR tweeter. The bass and piano are fantastic as well; however, I would say Redman really steals the show with his work on the saxophone. As Rick would say, this is buttery smooth! Or maybe it's peanut buttery smooth and rich... :)

I'm with Pbgalvin. I hadn't heard Donald Byrd before either. Good stuff!!!

I'm still trying to figure out what types of jazz attract my attention. I guess it's songs that have a little snap, a little rhythm, a little "toe tapping" quality. I really like Donald Byrd's style. There are LOTS of Byrd albums available for streaming on DEEZER. I'll be doing some exploring...

Frank Catalano / Bang (2008) -- Soul Burner

Frank is another one of my favorite sax players...the guy rips the sax to shreds on this one.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying Donald Byrd...he is one "funky dude".

Who really surprises me though is The Space Cowboy (ROMAN)...for a guy that the sun doesn't rise til 1 pm...likes to smell "just cut wafts of grass"...and appears to be in constant "Zen"...his liking of Donald Byrd surprises me. I guess you really can teach an old dog a new trick.
