Hi Rick,

I do have a collection of older devices. I don't throw a device away unless it has become non-functional. I plan to move my Denon 7.1 Receiver into the slot formerly occupied by the Onkyo. Right now, a Sony 5.1 occupies that slot. The Denon gives me more options for connecting my audio support speakers.

I am sorry that I killed the Onkyo, but I am not sorry to have it out of my system. I have cussed that device and Onkyo in general "enough already".

I believe the Denon will suffice in the audio support role. Thus, I do not plan to purchase any additional gear at this time. Saving my money for.................

Best,

Art

Hey Art:
Love your Blog. I told my wife about your Onkyo on the Floor ordeal and you trying to resuscitate the patient, but to no avail. Well guess what, I actually have an Denon avr-3300 in the "Barn". Problem is, the wife has laid claim to it, and says you're on your own. Sorry Art, I tried.

On another note, I noticed you ended your last entry with, "saving my money for..............." 15 periods = TRITON REFERENCE ?
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Hi Anthem,

I have a Denon AVR-790 7.1 Receiver. I will install the Denon into my system later this morning, replacing my even-older Sony STR-DE 885 5.1 Receiver. Using the 7.1 Denon will allow me to try out more options in my "Audio Support" setup. My Triton Ones are unaffected by all of this silliness because they are being driven by my Cambridge 851A 2-channel amp.

Yes, the row of periods indicates the continued consideration of the References -- on hold at present as we await the results of a biopsy which my wife had last Thursday. We hope to have the results by EOD today.

Best,

Art

Hi Wayne,

Thanks. We are still awaiting biopsy results. Maybe tomorrow.

Denon is in place and playing happily. Currently have KLH Sides as Surrounds and Sevens as Surround Backs. Nice to be able to independently adjust the Surrounds and Surround Backs.

Happy listening.
