Anthem, how are the highs when using normal power cords with the T 2s plugged directly into the wall socket?

Mr. T

Emotiva recommends their amps be plugged directly into a wall receptacle, but then again, GE recommends the same for their powered speakers. I say, buck the trend and use a cmx-2 for your Emotiva amps. If you like what YOU hear and want the same for the rest of your gear, you could buy an cmx-6 and plug it into a cmx-2.

Mr.W

I don't remember how the T's sound with stock power cords plugged directly into wall. At this point I'm like Rick and Dilettante....the Venom 3 are here to stay, so not worried about what the stock cords sound like.
If i the Venom 3's sound their best plugged into an cmx6 > cmx-2...then that's what I'll do.

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Hi all, I have been doing a little research on this power cord thing. It seems to me the these cords are adding a broadband filter function. I am going to try using a Snap-on ferrite bead and see if that has any effect. Price point is good, the beads are $1.71. In larger quantities the price drops:)

Enjoy!

Spalsh, on other cords/cables it works well, like HDMI, etc. Not sure about a power cord, but look forward to your report.
God Bless, Wayne

Thanks for the info, DT. I've ordered some to try on both speaker cables and the unshielded power cables I haven't converted to Venom 3's.

Please let us know what you find. I'll do the same.

Hi rjohn, I would NOT put them on the speaker cables!!! Power only!! The ferrite will effect (increase)the impedance of the circuit. I do not have any specific data on how much increase is seen. I was looking at the power cord thing so adding this to a speaker cable is not recommended at this time.

Enjoy,
DT
