IF lamp cord is all a person can afford, then by all means, use it.
I know that is not the case with the people discussing it here.
And I am thankful as can be that I can have good cords/cables.
I do not take that for granted, believe me.
God Bless,
Wayne

Still sorting out PC feed choices, and yes letting changes settle in makes a difference.
First, still love the Nordost Heimdall 2 on the Marantz/DAC.
Been playing with Nordost Blue Heaven vs recently re purchased Audience Forte F3 on the Oppo105... yes, Wayne has my prior Audience, insisted on buying it!
SO, here is what is I hear so far with the Oppo feed to the Marantz:
Nordost Blue Heaven just kills symphony stuff, but other feeds have a slight bright edge. Audience takes the bright edge off everything else, but for multi instrument pieces, just love the Nordost.
What to do?
Haven’t decided yet.
All I can say is that PC’s do change SQ for the better: cleaner, more dynamic.
And what would the Nordost Heimdall 2 do on the Oppo? Just thinking....

Rick, glad you're still having fun with this. When you talk about the Oppo feed to the Marantz, is this a digital data link? I'm a little confused here.
While you've been exploring the world of PCs, one of my Bel Canto monoblocks died. It was just sitting there idling, and when I went to start up the rest of my system the next day, my left channel amp was dead. After troubleshooting, I put in my previous stereo amp (also a Class D), and what a huge step backward! The sense of holographic 3D is gone, even after a week of re-break-in. Imaging is vaguer, sound is harsh, dynamics are reduced (200 Wpc vs 300 Wpc for the Bel Canto). Ain't no fun to listen any more. So the amp is back at Bel Canto. Hopefully, it will be fixed before long. This is the first time I've been able to do a pure A/B comparison with amps, and what a difference.

Hi, Charlie,
Sorry about your amp!!! Hope you get it back soon.
Re the Oppo feed, yes, usually it is HDMI digital audio to the Marantz, though sometimes it's 5.1 analog. I know you moved the Red Dawn to your Oppo, using the Oppo for digital transport, and reported you couldn't notice a difference. For whatever reason, even with HDMI audio feed to the Marantz, there is a difference with different power cords when I am playing Blu-ray material, especially noticeable with music. I don't know what part of the Oppo's read/play/format/export digital audio pieces are being affected, but the Audience is the rough edge smoother, the Nordost Blue Heaven is the full orchestra definer. As big a difference as a power cord on the receiver/DAC, no, but a difference. Haven't listened enough to analog 5.1 out from the Oppo to have an opinion yet.
Again, go figure.....
