Charlie has certainly done a good job explaining what I hear with the Nordost cables. Particularly in comparing the Heimdall and Red Dawn cables. One observation I have noted was that the improvement seems more pronounced on the components that are processing a lower voltage signal. In other words, more impact on the CD player, turntable, and preamp, and less on my amplifiers. In fact, the Red Dawn cables may be better on the amps. Just my quick .02.

I've ordered a Heimdall, will comment after playing it a bit for break in. I HAVE noticed that the Nordost Blue Heaven needed some original break-in to sound it's best, needed some more run time to settle back in after I had switched the Audience and Nordost for a test, and then back again, which involved considerable bending.

Rick, if I remember right, the Nordost documentation talks about a 100 hour break in on their cables. After going through it, I agree. I kept noticing steady improvement even at 60+ hours. Yes, on the Heimdall PC.

Length and flexibility can certainly be a challenge with these cables. They’re expensive to start with and going up from 1 meter gets significantly more expensive rather quickly. I seem to prefer solid conductors for power and speaker cables. I don’t recall too much break in time but there certainly was an improvement with a little time.

Well geez and crackers, ain't this pc thing a Hoot. Like y'all I first started out by changing the pc on my source player. Wow. Sounded Heavenly! Then I upgraded the pc on my preamps. Mercy. I'm in Love! Should i stop! Crap no! Next, i upgraded the amp PC's. Holy Moly! Can it get much better? Next, I replaced the pc on the Furman directly in the wall outlet. Mother of Pearl! Daddy's in Love! What else could possibly make the sound better?

A couple of weeks ago i was reading some posts on the Primaluna Facebook page, and one particular gentleman was describing his experience with Raytheon/Baldwin 12au7 tubes. In short, he was absolutely astonished as to how much better they sounded then the tubes he was currently using, so i picked up a pair from a company in Canada. When they arrived last week, i replaced the 2 inside tubes (4 total) with the Raytheon/Baldwin...smack my bottom and call me a cab. What a delicious sound! Extended highs and gorgeous bass, even at high volumes. Now what would happen if I replaced all 4 12au7 with Raytheon/Baldwin? Monday i ordered another pair from a company in Tennessee and received them yesterday. What can i say? I'm in Love! What is next? Time will tell. Ain't this a Great hobby! May need therapy by Christmas.
