Timecop-sounds like a cool setup! I have a Velodyne Optimum 12 which I pair with my Triton 2's-awesome combo!!

You say you turn off the Optimum 10 for music,is that because you don't think you need it or because the Minvee 8 outperforms the 10 for music? If so how?

I actually had the Minivee 8 for a week which I returned for the Optimum 12.
That little sub is pretty impressive. I wouldn't mind one for my computer system. Then again it costs almost as much as a Forcefield 5.
So much music-so little time!

Hey all you wonderful guys recommending I pick up this and move that....
You are VERY welcome to come visit and help me with the heavy lifting.
Ha ha
I wish I was even home to listen to music on these lovely speakers.

Bro Santhosh, where the heck have you been??? Been missing you here.
I have now caught on to why you are so crazy about these sweet Triton 7s.
But sadly, No, they did not pass the "cricket" test for me. I do not blame the speakers, it is my ears. And the location.
In the living room, there is too much ambient noise around for one, and the WAF for another.
I am sure, and will try and confirm, IF the wife or daughter are not around I can turn up the volume enough for me to hear those damn crickets.
My wife can hear them, so they are still there. But to be honest, I cannot.
Keep in better touch,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey wweiss - The optimum 10 is clearly a better sub, but not by that far. Obviously the minivee 8" prides itself on being a very small sealed sub with great reach. I bought it used for less than half the cost new, so it was a great deal.

For music - I really don't need both subs going. The minivee is up front near the triton sevens, and it easily fills in the lowest frequencies w/o overpowering the rest of the music when playing in 2.1 stereo (my preferred mode). Both fair equally with music - but with the minivee I never get too much bass with my music... it's blended such that most people aren't even aware that it's on at all (though you can immediately tell once it's turned off).

Both subs have good attack and very controlled, short decay - which makes them great for music.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner

Work, work, work! Bro Wayne! Have less time than I would like listening to music. Will be traveling to India for a few weeks next week and there is much to take care of before we go! There have been a few good suggestions in the "currently listening" section to keep me busy over the last few weeks.
Stay true!
Santhosh

Hey Mr. Wayne (world traveller) ... where are you at and for how long? You need to tell me when you're going out of town, so l can come babysit the 7's. I hope your wife has been instructed to play only "Smooth Jazz" on the 7's...rock & roll would turn them into Cerwin Vega's.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Hey Bro Anthem, in S'pore now and headed to Jakarta, Indonesia soon.
About the Triton 7s, I can assure you that they can play rock and roll, classical, folk, LOTS of kinds of music besides Smooth Jazz. And they became nothing like CVs.
In Fact, they became like Katie Kisson, the song bird from Pink Foyd's DSOTM:

Maybe you should let yours sing sometime, ha ha
God Bless,
Wayne
