I think the balanced crossover design in the T1 and T5 are very audible and add a lot of transparency. That alone would probably make a huge difference but they are also doubling the number of mid/bass drivers. So far, GET has been extremely fair with their pricing. I expect a $450 price jump will be clearly audible as it has been in their other models.

I'm wondering if I should upgrade my amplification first. I had planned on using Emotiva XPA-1Ls on all three of my front speakers and an XPA-5 or XPA-7 for the rest of my system. Po beat me to it and sounds like he's had success in integrating it all. At this point I feel that may make more of an impact. I'm sure a monoblock amp on the SuperCenterXL will improve the performance. Aren't you using Emotiva amps as well? Suggestions?

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hi, T Cobe

I have an NAD T757 AVR driving the cinema system, plus an NAD C275BEE driving the front T1's, to take some load off the AVR.

I haven't tried monoblocks. What I was thinking I'd do, when the XXL arrives at my local dealer, is audition it and the XL on the same amp, probably an NAD to compare it most closely to my setup, and then maybe both on another amp (maybe a monoblock) to see what differences I hear between the XL and XXL and under different conditions.

There's always something new to think about!

Rick

I am going broke, I will listen to the new center when they arrive and see if I should replace my XL that I have set up with the Triton ones.

I was hoping for an even bigger center than 35" and 5 1/4" high, as I have a 178" screen, maybe buy two and place them side by side !!!

Two SuperCenters would be formidable. If you do it, we'll need a full report and some pictures! I wish this center had been available 6 months ago. Maybe my dealer will give me some sort of trade in value since they are still selling the XL like hot cakes.

Cheers,

In case you were serious, the best approach for dual center speakers is one below the screen and one above. :)

Moderator,

Lets say he is serious, how would the connection be made, both red speaker cables in the receiver red and black to black, all wound up the into the connector?

Thanks
Po

Po,

I believe you would have to use a splitter coming out of the pre-amp and send the center signal through two separate external amplifier channels. It would be an interesting experiment for sure.
